1、Unit 2 Book 5The United KingdomThe Third Period Using Language: Sightseeing in London设计(实施)广东从化中学骆静华时间 教材分析本单元的话题是英国,从地理、历史、政治以及文化等层面向学生简明扼要地阐述了英国的概况,使学生对当代英国的国家构成及名胜古迹等诸多方面有一个整 体认识,加强学生对英国的了解,同时也使学生自然而然地对英语的理解和领 悟更加深入。本节课是本单元的第三课时、此前已完成两节关于英国历史背景知识介绍及地理 概况的阅读课及相关语言点的讲解,并且学生已掌握一些描述地点表达,如地理 位置和历史,而针对

2、本课时,教师根据新课程的教学理念,注重学生的课前自主 独立学习和探究精神,让学生课前自行查阅有广州的历史名胜或著名景点相关资 料信息,以备课堂上学以致用,并通过设计个人及小组互动合作等活动,主要培 养学生运用阅读文章描述地点的词汇、短语和句型介绍广州的历史名胜和著名景 点,提高学生综合语言运用能力。Teaching Objectives:Knowledge objectives:Students will be able to learn about some words, phrases and sentence structures from the reading text about

The splendid statue consists of five stone goats, telling a famous ancient story about Guangzhou. It was built in 1960 and since then it has remained a symbol of the city.L

14、ater after lunch we will go to visit Guangdong Museumf which is located in the center of Tianhe District. With the Pearl River beside it, the museum has a long history and was rebuilt in 2004. You will be thrilled by so many wonderful treasures from different cultures displayed in the museum.We will finish the day by having dinner in a hotel near the beautiful Pearl River.
