The lecturer, however, gives an alternative account that it is not literature only that helps people obtain their intellectual stimulation because those other types of bo
3、oks concerning science and history are also in high quality and just as creative as those literatural works.The second point brought up in the reading passage is that people are actually shifting their attention of reading literature to other entertainment methods, which will lower the level of cult
4、ure. The lecturer refutes it by stating that other forms of culture may be just the same job of literature. Specifically, listening to a wonderful piece of music and watching a good movie is by no means the declination of culture. The culture, the lecturer adds, has actually changed to manifest itse
5、lf through more different forms which may be more direct to convey the culture.In contrast to the last point in the reading passage that the prospect of literature is not that good due to the declination of readers and the less investment of publishers, the lecturer asserts that it is not the reader

As is clearly indicated by the lecturer, even the earlier readers will not choose to write the modem literature.Overall, the reading and listening have virtually opposite view concerning whether the declination of literature nowadays is harmful or not.
