1、The reading contributes to the fact that dinosaurs are the members of the endothermic family, while the lecturer in the listening passage hold a completely different standpoint that dinosaurs should by no means be considered as endotherms. The first concern of the reading is that fossils of dinosaurs
2、 have been discovered in polar regions, where the temperature is so low that only animals that can maintain their body temperatures, namely endotherms can survive. The lecturer, however, states the fact that the so-called polar regions are not as cold as today, so the dinosaurs, without having to be
3、 endotherms, are able to live under such circumstances. Even if the climate became cold in those regions, the dinosaurs are likely to handle the problem by migrating and even hibernating. The next point brought in the reading passage is that dinosaurs have got legs under their body to sustain the mov

While the lecturer hold an alternative account that those legs under the body, although different from such reptiles as crocodiles, are used to support more weight of the body so that dinosaurs can grow to a large s

This point even in turn proves that dinosaurs are thus strong andbig enough that they dont need much running as endotherms do.In contrast to the last point in the reading passage that the bones in the dinosaurs have Haversian canals, which is one important characteristic of endotherms5 bone str
6、ucture, the professor, nevertheless, point it although the canals may somehow serve as a indicator, the growing rings of the dinosaurs, which is another trait of dinosaurs5 body, is more convincing that the dinosaurs5 growth rings grow or stop to grow continually but those strings in the endorthems will grow very rapidly under every situation, which will make it deHnite that dinosaurs can not be classiHed as an endotherm.Overall, the reading and the listening have virtually opposed opinions concerning the identity of dinosaurs as a species of endotherm.
