9、In 1973,the species was listed as the endangered.Now scientists say humpback whales are making a comeback.By the middle of the 20th century,hunting whales for profit had nearly wiped out many whale species.In 1973,the US.set up the Endangered Species Act.People were no longer allowed to hunt them in

10、 the US.waters.In 1982,the International Whaling is illegal worldwide.3 .Last September,it was announced that nine groups of humpback whales are no longer endangered.Four groups are still endangered and a fifth are threatened.4 .The number of them is growing particularly faster in the Southern Hemis

15、 following things,you will earn more respect.Contribute to the household.At the very least,clean up after yourself.As a teenager,you are old enough to clean up after yourself.When you make a mess,clean it up.2 .All chores(琐事) that you do help to reduce the load of the person who did them before.Now

16、that youre old enough and capable,why shouldnt you contribute to the household?3 .Be responsible.4 .Whether they are basic things,like brushing your teeth or doing your homework,or more involved chores that contribute to the household,simply fulfill your responsibilities on time.When adults know tha

17、t they can rely on you,their trust and respect for you will increase.Solve more of your own problem without asking for help.Instead of taking the easy approach and asking for help,make an effort to solve your problems on your own first.The “easy way” is only easy for you,but it is an extra task for

18、the person from whom you are seeking help.Seek help only after you have made an honest effort to solve your own problems.5 .When you become a good problem solver,you increase your value to the community.AEveryone has certain responsibilities.BBy being aware of these manners and traits,you can manage

26、ce stress and manage the stress thats unavoidable.FThat kind of stress isnt going to help you,and it can actually make you sick.GThe trick is to remember that some types of stress are good and others are bad.5.How to Become SmarterThere are three things that will get you ahead in life:Good looks,bei

27、ng smart and being considered as being smart.The first is Godgiven.1 .In this article we explore some different ways to become smarter.Go to college,and get an education.2 .It means that you will have been exposed to many different ideas and hopefully you will have learned how to think.Being able to

28、 think outside the box and for yourself are features smart people possess.Read books and educational magazine.3 .Educational magazines such asDiscoveryorNationalGeographicare a wealth of knowledge that you can share with others,thus making you sound very smart.If you do watch television,try watching

29、 something where you can learn such as theHistoryChannel,Discoveryetc.Expand your vocabulary.Try to learn one new word a week.It does not seem like much,but adding 52 new words to your vocabulary will make you appear much smarter.Subscribing is a good start.4 .This way you are actually getting 365 w

30、ords a year,but that is usually more than most people can absorb.5 .Uneducated people and people not considered as being smart tend to do this.They hear an outrageous(骇人的) claim and they repeat it to the nearest ear.You can do much harm to your seek for being smart if you are known for giving bad in

Find out how to survive high school with a few easy tips.1. Be Yourself.High school is a fun time to m

33、ake new friends, meet new people, date and socialize. Make friends with all kinds of people and not just a group which you are comfortable with. Most peer pressure cases are because of the weak image created by freshmen.1 Dont give in to anyones wants.2.2 .Choose your friends carefully and make sure

34、 you wont get influenced by anyone. Socialize, but by judging who you can connect to. You will find friends, but stay away from the ones who dont want to be your friends as a bad company is temping, but the good one is true.3. Be Optimistic.There is nothing better than having a smile on your face wh

35、enever you can.3 .Dont be afraid to make friends, dont get aggressive or personal with anyone and treat others the way you want to be treated. Respect your teachers and classmates and try to be helpful if you want the same in return.4. Be Confident.When you believe in yourself, others believe in you

36、. Talk, walk and address people confidently and this will create a strong image about you.4 .Be creative and unique and learn to set trends. Confidence is one quality you grow with, and people respect you for that.5. Love High School.5 .Make the most out of it, and you will never get those moments b

Come up with prank ideas, get a detention, top your class, make the best friends, drink, go to prom, party, but just make as many memories as you can!With these tips to survive high school, you will surely be proud of graduating as an all round approaching adult carrying the best roots.
