Believe it or not, you may fall in love with them at first sight.On Xidao Island of Sanya, there is a library called “Study Over the Sea”. Its the fir
2、st public library on the island. It was turned from three old boats. Also, the decorations inside the library, like the postcard wall, the pictures, the desks and chairs, were built using the old fishing nets, wooden parts and nails from the boats. People can read, study and hold activities there.In
3、 the middle of a pear orchard in Xiyu Village, Pengzhou, Sichuan Province, there is a three-story library. It has become a place for villagers of different ages to read books and enjoy their free time. The library is a 500 m2 building with glass walls. On the first floor of the library is an exhibit
4、ion room. It shows old photos of Xiyu Village, local food and so on. On the second floor is the reading room with about 4,000 books. The reading room also provides drinks. On the third floor is a multifunctional room where people can enjoy DIY activities.These two libraries are amazing, dont you thi
5、nk? In fact, every rural library has its own beauty. Rural libraries help villagers learn and communicate. With them, villages are becoming a better place to live. 6、 13-year-old Genshu Price from Hawaii, USA is a good example. He recycles bottles and cans to help students in Hawaii reach their college dreams.In the beginning, Genshu recycled bottles and cans to save money for his college tuition. But then he came up with a bigger idea: Why not recycle more bott
7、les and cans to help other students. So he started Bottles4College three years ago. Its goal is to collect and recycle 2 to 4 million bottles and cans each year to help up to 2 students pay for their college tuition.Genshu said Bottles4College was based on four pillars: education, environment, commu
8、nity and lifestyle. “Were helping the environment by recycling,” he said. “Were helping education by providing tuition for Hawaiian kids and inspiring them to get a good education. And then were bringing communities together. At the same time, the three pillars above become a part of our life so wer

The competition is an important activity for Chinese language learners from all over the world to learn Chinese, understand China, and experience Chinese culture. Not long ago, thirty-fou
11、r secondary school students from across New Zealand took part in the 14th “Chinese Bridge” competition. It was held in Christchurch, New Zealand. The theme of the competition was “Fly High with Chinese”. Because of COVID-19, many Chinese language teachers couldnt come to New Zealand to work as volun
12、teers, and these students could only take part in this competition through online videos. Someone worried about the number and performance of students in this years competition. 15、irl14-year-old American schoolgirl Lily Swanson is crazy about a TV show about emergency service. She never thought that her favorite TV show would play such a big role in life.One night, Lily was walking her dog near her home. Suddenly, she got a strong burning smell in her nose, and she stopped ri
16、ght away to find where the smell was coming from. She looked around and finally found black smoke from an apartment window. Thinking of what she learned from her favorite TV show, Lily quickly called 999 and ran home to ask her dad Mike Swanson for help. Mike took a ladder and ran to the scene to he
17、lp those inside. When they got there, the whole building was on fire, and one of the windows even fell down to the street. They put the ladder against the building quickly. Some people managed to climb down and got saved.Luckily, the fire brigade arrived at the scene just minutes later. Everyone was
18、 safe in the end. Lily said, “The fire brigade showed up very quickly and took over. But we did everything we could do and thankfully it was a perfect ending.” Lily and her dad stayed at the scene until everyone moved out of the building.Mike was very proud of his daughter. Also, the commander on the night of the fire, showed great thanks for Lilys quick thinking. He said, “Wed like to thank her for calling us so quickly after finding the fire in the apartment.”
