At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each childs past records and she put Te
3、ddys off until last. However, when she read his file, she was in surprise. Teddys first grade teacher wrote, Teddy is a bright child with a ready laugh. He does his work neatly and hasgood manners.he is a joy to be around. His second grade teacher wrote, Teddy is an excellentstudent, well liked by h
4、is classmates. But he is troubled because his mother has a deadly illness and life at home must be a struggle. His third grade teacher wrote, His mothers death has been hard on him. He tried to do his best but his father doesnt show much interest. Teddys fourth grade teacher wrote, Teddy is withdraw
5、n and doesntshow much interest inschool. He doesnt have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class.” By now, Mrs. Thompsonwas ashamed ofherself and she felt even worse when her students brought her Christmaspresents, wrapped in beautiful paper and tied with pretty ribbons. Teddys present, however, w
6、as clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown grocery paper . Taking her time she opened it to reveal Teddys gifts, a bracelet(手镯)with some of the stones missing and a bottle with one-quarter full of perfume. How the children laughed! “What a pretty bracelet! Mm, lovely perfume! Perfect on my wrist.” The
