The Kunming Declaration (昆明宣言) is the main achievement of this conference. It calls for countries to protect and save 30 percent of l

4、and and sea areas by 2030. In 2010, the Aichi biodiversity targets (目标) were made through COP 10 to slow biodiversity loss and protect habitats (栖息地) by 2020. But the world has failed to meet any of those targets, according to a UN report. To make sure the targets of COP 15 can be met, China has tak

5、en the lead, investing (投资) 1.5 billion yuan to create the Kunming Biodiversity Fund (昆明生态多样性基金). The fund will be used to support developing countries in biodiversity protection.   China is also moving faster to build a system of protected areas and national parks. With a protected land area o
