3、ar,not just one specific car.Proper terminology A general term used to refer to a class or type of thing.It is not capitalized,such as car,dog,or tree.Common noun Common nouns are often used to refer to a group of things that share similar characteristics or functions.For example,the noun animal can
4、 be used to refer to all animals,regardless of their species or classification.Generalization of common nounsCommon nounCountable noun A noun that can be used with numbers or other counting devices to indicate individual items.It has a plural form to indicate more than one item,such as dog,cat,or ap
5、ple.Plural form of countable nouns The plural form of countable nouns is usually formed by adding an-s or-es suffix,such as dogs or cats.However,there are exceptions to this rule,such as knife becoming knives.Countable nounUncountable noun A noun that cannot be used with numbers or other counting de
