8、into three types.They are Sales Packaging,Grouped Packaging and Transport Packaging.Most products must be contained before they can be moved from one place to another.To function successfully,the package must contain the product.Defective packaging can lead to spillage and result in major losses and
9、 serious damage.Packaging plays a vital role in protecting products as they go from the manufacturers to the consumers.Packaging is designed to ensure that the products reach the consumers in good condition.Packaging can also provide supplement product protection.This may be achieved by forms of cushioning such as shredded papers,foamed plastic or wrappings.In all,the functions of packaging are containment,protection and preservation.
