The unit is from PEP English book, the second semester of grade 9. The
3、 topic of this unit is “Sad movies make me cry”. Through this lesson, students reading ability can be improved and they can know the importance of teamwork.2. Analysis of studentsBased on the new curriculum standard, students should be regarded as the center of the curriculum, and individual differe
4、nces are supposed to respect, so I need to pay attention to the students. Students in Grade 9 are active and after learning English for several years. They have accumulated basic English knowledge and can express their ideas and thoughts. However, some of them may be shy to speak in public, so I wou
5、ld attach more importance to the communication with them and provide them with more chances to speak English.3. Analysis of teaching proceduresStep 1 Warm-up and Lead-inFirstly, I will greet students as usual.Then, I will ask students to have a free talk about “What do you think is the
10、 most important thing to win a game?”This activity can stimulate the interest of learning this topic.Step 2 Pre-readingI will ask students to open their book and look at the title and picture shown on it, then ask students to predict what the passage may talk about. Students may give me their answer
11、s. .By doing this, students predicting skills and logical thinking can be improved.Step 3 While-readingIn order to help students have a better understanding of this passage and improve their reading skills, I will set two parts in while reading, global reading and careful reading. In global reading,
12、 I will give students 5 minutes to read the passage quickly and finish the exercise on textbook-number the events in the correct order.And in careful reading, I will give students 8 minutes to read the passage again. Students need to find the answer of this question why Peter felt angry and worried.
13、 Students may find the phrases “kick him off, fail my team“ and so on. Then I will ask students what makes Peter change, they will get the answer easily, that is the fathers advice.
