3、tage?External Inhibit?1,500,000 Hour MTBFFeatures+28V Input,Single/Dual OutputThe H-Series of DC/DC converters are radiation toler-ant,high reliability devices designed for moderate ra-diation environments such as those encountered by lowearth orbit satellites and launch vehicles.For higherradiation

4、 environments,the G-Series of DC/DC con-verters is recommended.System upgrades to higherradiation tolerance applications can be easily accom-modated with the G-Series converters because theyhave the same mechanical outline and are pin compat-ible.For physically smaller,lower output power singleand d

5、ual output applications the L-Series of DC/DC con-verters are recommended.Features of the H-Series in-clude up to 40 watt output power,small size,low weightand a high tolerance to total ionizing dose,single eventeffects and environmental stresses such as tempera-ture extremes,mechanical shock,and vi

6、bration.All com-ponents are fully derated to meet the requirements ofMIL-STD-975 and MIL-STD-1547.Extensive documen-tation including Radiation Susceptibility,Thermal Analy-sis,Stress Analysis and MTBF are available.The converters incorporate a fixed frequency single for-ward topology with magnetic f

7、eedback and an internalEMI filter.These converters are capable of meeting theconducted emissions and conducted susceptibility re-quirements of MIL-STD-461C without any additionalcomponents.All models include an external inhibit portand have an adjustable output voltage.They are en-closed in a hermet

8、ic 3.0 x 2.5 x 0.445 steel packageand weigh less than 125 grams.The package utilizesrugged ceramic feed-through copper core pins and issealed using parallel seam welding.Full environmental screening includes temperature cy-cling,constant acceleration,fine and gross leak,andburn-in.Non-flight version

9、s of the H-Series converters are avail-able for system development purposes.Variations inelectrical specifications and screening to meetcustom requirements can be accommodated.Applications?Low Earth Orbit Satellites(LEO)?Launch VehiclesPD-94437AH-SERIESThe H-Series converters utilize a single forwar

10、d to-pology with resonant reset.The nominal switchingfrequency is 500kHz.Electrical isolation and tightoutput regulation are achieved through the use of amagnetically coupled feedback.Voltage feed-forwardwith duty factor limiting provides high line rejectionand protection against output over voltage

11、 in theevent of an internal control loop failure.This mecha-nism limits the maximum output voltage to approxi-mately 20%over the nominal regardless of the linevoltage.Circuit DescriptionAn internal EMI filter allows the converter to meet theconducted emissions requirements of MIL-STD-461Con the inpu

12、t power leads.A two-stage output filterreduces the typical output ripple to less than 20mVpeak-to-peak.Output current is limited under any load fault condi-tion to approximately 125%of rated.An overloadcondition causes the converter output to behave likea constant current source with the output volt

13、age drop-ping below nominal.The converter will resume nor-mal operation when the load current is reduced be-low the current limit point.This protects the converterfrom both overload and short circuit conditions.Thecurrent limit point exhibits a slightly negative tem-perature coefficient to reduce th

14、e possibility of ther-mal runaway.An under-voltage lockout circuit prohibits the con-verter from operating when the line voltage is too lowto maintain the output voltage.The converter will notstart until the line voltage rises to approximately 17volts and will shut down when the input voltage dropsb

15、elow 16 volts.The one volt of hysteresis reducesthe possibility of line noise interfering with theconverters start-up and shut down.An external inhibit port is provided to control con-verter operation.The converters operation is inhib-ited when this pin is pulled low.It is intended to bedriven by an

16、 open collector logic device.The pinmay be left open for normal operation and has anominal open circuit voltage of 10.5V with respect tothe input return(pin 2).Single output models feature remote sense to auto-matically correct for voltage drops between the con-verter output anf the load.The output

17、voltage of dualoutput models can be adjusted using a single exter-nal resistor.Design MethodologyThe H-Series was developed using a proven con-servative design methodology which includes se-lecting radiation tolerant and established reliabilitycomponents and fully derating to the requirementsof MIL-

18、STD-975 and MIL-STD-1547.Heavy derat-ing of the power MOSFET gate and drain voltagesminimize the possibility of SEGR and SEB.A mag-netic feedback circuit is utilized instead of opto-cou-plers to minimize temperature,radiation and agingsensitivity.PSPICE was used extensively to predictand optimize ci
