1、 第第 十十 二二 章章会展翻译会展翻译第一节第一节 导入导入 一、会展的含义一、会展的含义 会展是会议、展览、大型活动等集体性活动的简称。其概念内涵是指在一定地域空间，许多人聚集在一起形成的、定期或不定期、制度或非制度的传递和交流信息的群众性社会活动，其概念的外延包括各种类型的博览会、展览展销活动、大型会议、体育竞技运动、文化活动、节庆活动等。狭义的会展仅指展览会和会议；广义的会展是会议、展览会、节事活动和奖励旅游的统称。会议、展览会、博览会、交易会、展销会、展示会等是会展活动的基本形式，世界博览会为最典型的会展活动。欧洲是会展的发源地，在欧洲，会展被称为C&E(convention and
2、 exposition)或者M&E(meeting and exposition)。而广义的会展就是通常所说的MICE（M:meeting；I:incentive tour；C:conventions；E：exhibition and events）。会展不仅能带来巨大的经济效益，更重要的是还能带来巨大的社会效益。因此，会展产业受到很多地区和城市的重视。中国会展业在不长的时间内已取得突飞猛进的发展，并被经济研究部门列为今后十年最具发展潜力的十大行业之一。从20世纪90年代中期开始，会展活动带动了相关行业的发展，特别是外贸行业。许多城市将会展业作为地方的支柱产业，“以展促贸、以展引资，以展会友，

41、主语提前置中文句首，译为“本届博览会由浙江省人民政府主办”，这样更符合汉语的表达习惯。（2）英文句子多采用介词短语的表述方式，使得行文更加流畅，清晰，句子结构一目了然。在中文翻译中，对“by,with,by”三个介词引导的短语翻译也显得语序连贯，译文简洁明快。（3）在英文里，theme一般用做名词，例如，上海世博会的主题是“城市，让生活更美好”：The theme of Expo 2010 is“Better City,Better Life”。在加拿大安大略省Brampton市举办的2008环球博览会(Globe 2008)的主题是“全球性城市，全球性思考”：The theme of the
