According to Aristotle and many other philosophers, all jokes depend mainly on showing inferiority in another person o

Jokes raise our good opinion of ourselves chiefly someone elses expense.By showing how much better than other people we are is only one reason we like jokes. Someone may also use a joke to express their a
14、nger or their cruelty or any other kind of action that is not acceptable to us. We feel free to laugh when we hear about someone slipping on a banana skin. The joke lets us express those attitudes which are usually unacceptable to society. This is probably the reason why some of the jokes, especiall
15、y those involving cruelty or sex, are so popular with certain people.Black humor is a literary term that refers primarily to a kind of bitter and often outrageous satire. Much black humor is directed against greed, narrow-mindedness, complacency, and hypocrisy. Black humor frequently satirizes socie
16、tys institutions, including government bureaucracies, the military and large corporations, depicting them as dehumanizing organizations. Black humorists often attack the absurdity they see in life itself, as well as societys ills.The punch lineThe punch line refers to the key point of a joke or humo
17、rous story. It can punch the right position and make people laugh. If there is no punch line in a joke or humor, the joke will never become a real joke.Read the following humor and understand the Punch line:A man was staying in a foreign town.
