Basic information of teaching:(1) Teaching Material: This is a listening class chosen from Module1 of Book 2 “Our Body and Healthy Habits”, NES, published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. Each module of this book is an independent unit of the English language.(
2、2) Target students:The class is for senior high school students during the first term.(3) The teacher:This class is given by Luo Yan, an English teacher of senior one.(4) The school:Shanyang Senior High school2. Analysis of learning situation:(1) Analysis of learners:Participants of teaching are cho
3、sen from Grade One, Class A12. After nearly one terms study, they basically have mastered some methods to learn English, including listening. Before learning this part, they briefly have known about some words and expressions related to this topic from introduction.However, they have insufficient la
4、nguage preparation and poor language foundation. Besides, they lack active thinking ability and autonomous learning ability. Thus, they participate less class activities and are less likely to cooperate with the teacher, discuss with their partners and express their ideas.(2) Analysis of teaching:Th
5、rough the study of this section, the students will get to know more about health problems and learn to protect their health. This period is designed to improve the students listening skills as well as helping them to master some words and expressions concerned with target language.3. The theme conte

Analysis of teaching objectives:(1) Language competence: To pronounce, tell the meaning and use the following words, including words related to parts of the body, symptoms, illness and treatment. To arouse students interest in describing one of their own health problems
7、 to their partners with proper expressions in daily life.To help students to get a good understanding of the listening material, a conversation about asking for help for a doctor if necessary. To develop students ability of making a dialogue based on target language.(2) Learning ability:To develop s
8、tudents active thinking by brainstorming some parts of ones body, and classify some words in connection with symptoms, illness and treatment.To help students to summarize the means of turning to a doctor for help when necessary.To cultivate students independent thinking ability and the ability of co

Besides, this class will transform what students learned in the listening period into true context in our daily communication by role-play activity. 10. Reflection of the ideological and political elements of the course and the breakthrough
14、point:The purpose of this lesson is to enable students to learn how to see a doctor in a proper English way, which is an indispensable part of their real life. At the same time, we closely connected with the current hot topic of the Covid-19 to remind students of the importance of health and the sen
15、se of community with a shared future.11. Teaching procedures :Step1: Lead-in by watching a short video on Zhong Nanshans health opinions. After looking at the video, students will be asked to answer three questions: “How old is Doctor Zhong?”“What do you think of his body?” “What healthy habits does
16、 he have?”Purpose: To active students to be interested in the topic about health problem and arouse students awareness of the current hot topic Covid-19.Step2: Warming up by some questions.Can you think of as many parts of the body as possible? How do you keep healthy?Do you often go on a diet?Have
17、you ever been to the hospital?Purpose: To be prepare for listening. Step3: Compare two situations where a doctor helps a foreign patient from incomprehensible English to fluent English, from which students will learn to offer help for a foreigner patient suppose he is a doctor.Purpose: To learn to u
18、se proper expressions in daily communication and lay a good foundation for the listening part.Step4: Put the words into four groups based on symptoms, illness, parts of the body and treatment.Purpose: To make sure that students can have enough vocabulary of the topic.Step5:Step5: Distinguish what se
19、ntences are said by the doctor and what sentences are said by the patient.Purpose: To make sure that students have a basic foundation of the conversation.Step6: Listen to the conversation and answer some questions.Purpose: To grasp some detailed information by these two tasks and cultivate students

23、 the class, I did a self-reflection of my class. This is the first time that I have taken such a public class to students. I felt a little nervous firstly, but students operation and encouragement inspired me a lot. So , my following tasks could be carried out smoothly. There existed strengths and s
24、hortcomings. All in all, this is a comparatively successful lesson in my mind. Here, I will analyze advantages and advantages of my lesson objectively from the following aspects:Firstly, I will talk about preparation and teaching process of my lesson. The lesson is designed to cultivate students lis
25、tening skills and put what they learned into practice by role-play activity,which can be divided into five parts, including lead-in,warming up, words learning, listening, speaking activities. All the teaching procedures were carried out smoothly,but one shortcoming existed,that is,students who perfo
26、rmed on the front felt nervous,so they couldnt express their ideas smoothly. Second, I will talk about students learning process. When it came to my class,they were very cooperative with each other when finishing each task. During the class, I proceeded well as I designed. Once I raised a question,
27、most of the students could undertake brainstorm and gave me the correct answers. When the discussion time came, I divided them into groups of four,asking them to do related tasks.What I didnt expect was that two students didnt catch the key points after listening to the conversation. After all, the
28、questions they are asked are very easy.I encouraged them gently and asked them to listen others carefully.For most of time,all of them were very hard-working.It seemed that they have grasped all the target language effectively in this period. However, I found some problems when they stand up to give
29、 me answers. For their voices are so low that others nearly couldnt hear them clearly. As for me, I felt it a pity that I didnt give more students time to present their role-play dialogues and correct their mistakes face to face,which I thought I should keep in mind for future my teaching.Besides, I
30、 want to talk about the organization of the class. From the angle of the time control, all of the steps were carried out within limited time. But one point is that I didnt give more opportunities to most students because of limited time. The good point is that I was quite satisfied with the part of
31、oral practice, because a lot of students participated in the activity actively. The feedback information was ideal at this point.As far as Im concerned, there are many points where I should improve after my teaching.I found some unsatisfactory elements in my teaching. I think it would be better for
32、me to improve the teaching procedure for future use. In addition, the class should be practical and adhere to the students ability.
