1、An analysis on the development of marine tourism in Dalian CityAbstract: Dalian has enormous potentialities in developing its own marine tourism industry. The paper mainly analyses the advantages and disadvantages in Dalians developing the marine tourism industry, and make suggestions on how to make
2、 full use of the natural and cultural resources in order to quicken the development of marine tourism industry of Dalian.Key words: marine tourism, Dalian city, tourism image, marine tourism product, marine environmentMarine tourism is an important component of nature-based tourism in the Dalian cit
3、y. It offers a wide range of passive and active recreational activities in near-pristine wilderness areas. Marine tourism in the region is recognized as a growth sector having expanded rapidly since 2000, and it is unusual in that growth has been limited by a lack of vehicular access points to the c
4、oast. This unplanned growth has been irregular. A marked downturn in visitation by yachts has coincided with an increase in visits by charter boats. Although only five bush camps are established along the coast, boat visits occur at approximately 216 locations that are all subject to potential envir
5、onmental damage. The extent to which this unplanned industry can be sustained without jeopardizing environmental, social and economic values remains open to question.Marine tourism plays an important part in tourism. It is an irreplaceable part of the marine industry in costal areas. There are rich
6、marine tourism resources in more than 18,000 km mainland coastline in China. These resources and the development of marine economy and development are inextricably linked. It is worth to explore how to understand the relationship between them, and how to make rational planning of coastal tourism res
7、ources.This thesis is to elaborate the relationship between the two to make the analysis of the role of coastal tourism in the marine economy of Dalian city, and explain how to protect the coastal environment at the same time. At the same time, the paper explores how to make use of existing resource
8、s and to make the best of tourism planning in order to spur local economic development and further enhance the value of the coast of the sustainable use of resources. Chapter One Introduction1.1 the definition of marine tourismThere are many definitions about marine tourism. Liu Hongbin thinks that
9、marine tourism is conducted by the marine natural tourism resources and cultural tourism resources as the basis of tourism activities; Dong Yuming believes that marine tourism is operated in a certain socio-economic conditions on the basis of the sea resources and the cultural resources, in order to
10、 meet peoples spiritual and material needs for the purpose of the conduct of marine tours. To sum up, marine tourism is the phenomena and the relationship between entertainment and vacation activities.Although the above definition is different, it eventually settled in the definition of tourism and
11、the definition of the scope of the marine space.According to the definition of the International Federation of tourism experts, tourism is the sum up of the phenomena and relationships caused by non-settlers through travel and temporary residence. They will not result in long-term residence, and wil
12、l not involve any money-making activities. Although this definition is general, it is widely recognized in the international arena. World Tourism Organization in the 1980 Manila meeting redefine tourism as follows: tourism refers to the travel of people for non-immigrant and peaceful purposes or for
13、 the realization of economic, social, cultural and spiritual aspects of personal development to promote of human understanding and cooperation.From these two definitions of view, the definition makes more focus on the space move of the tourists and the off-site nature of the tourism activities; it p
14、ut less emphasis on some degree of direction and purpose of the space moving dilute. As for the definition of the scope of the marine space, from a narrow angle of view, ocean space resources are marine water, the water and its overlying space, the seabed, the subsoil of the general term. In a broad
15、 sense, ocean resources are extremely rich in content. It not only refers to the ocean itself, atmosphere, sea surface and seabed, the inner space but also includes the coastal zone and collar jurisdiction over the waters of the island, even the hinterland, as well as overseas countries, the area of
16、 “overseas development . Therefore, the spatial extent of marine includes not only the ocean water in the usual sense, and u seabed, subsoil and atmosphere, but also includes the land area of ocean activities, the role of affect, which mainly refers to the coastal zone and islands. This part of the
17、regional land property carries the characteristics of both marine properties and land properties. And often the ocean properties are far more dramatic and human marine tourism activities are mainly concentrated in this region.Based on the above definition of the scope of tourism and marine regions o
18、f space, we believe that marine tourism is the sum of the phenomena and the relationship caused by the non-settlers for the purpose of non-immigrant and peace in the region of ocean space through travel and temporary residence due to lead to the realization of economic, social, cultural and spiritua
19、l aspects of personal development and to promote understanding and cooperation between people.1.2 the characteristics of marine tourismThe scenery is exquisite. Limpid seawater, pure white slight sand beach and emerald green massifs form the marine ecotourism environments. In addition, the bay forme
20、d by the promontories, the coastal regions and the fluctuant landform structure enable Dalians pelage ecotourism to have a distinctive style. The bathing places are natural and fine. Dalians bathing places mainly situate along the line of the Yellow Sea. During the swimming seasons the seawater qual
21、ity appears to be excellent about 67% of those days, and fine about 33% without any bad situation. The healthy index is up to the fine level. The sea eclipse landscapes are rich. Granite terrains distribute broadly along the coast massifs and have formed many famous sea eclipse landscapes. Some reef
22、s in some sea areas proliferate the seashore to similarly become a big resource superiority of the Dalian ecotourism.Many marine ecotourism projects in Dalian with the natural environment well and the style is unique. Some marine ecotourism resources and the coastal engineering construction together
23、 have formed a new scenic area, which can satisfy the tourists to seek for relaxation, entertainments and kinds of marine ecotourism activities that accord with individual interests.Dalian is the one of the most famous costal cities in China and also the famous summer resort in northern part which i
24、s the advantages to develop its marine tourism resources. The coastal scenery is the main body of the Dalian tourism resources. Dalian City is located in the southernmost part of Liaodong Island and faces the Bohai Sea in the east. On the 1900km-long coastline, mountains, sea, reefs and beach are se
25、amless, formed a variety of unique coastal landscape. Dalian marine tourism resources carry the characteristics of “beach, sea, scenery and the relative beach stuffs. Beach refers to costal beach. This is one of the most significant features of Dalians coastal tourism. There are many fine sandy beac
26、hes in Dalian in its more than 900 km costal lines. The beaches are natural salt swimming pools. There are more than 60 beaches in the city under construction. The city owns 11.7km costal lines to be built which covers about 70 percent of the accounting Liaoning Province to build the beach shoreline
27、. The sand is soft and flat, and sunshine here is sunny and pleasant. There is little rain weather and usually it rains at night and the storm disappears next morning and the air is exceptionally fresh. It is not too hot without accumulation of heat and moisture and the rain weather is proper but no
28、t heavy rain which is ideal summer weather. Board mills have been developed into seaside resort in Dalian, Xinghai Park, Tiger Beach, Fujia zhuang, Bangchui, Golden Pebble Beach, Bo Lanzi cents and Bath Bay beach. In the north of Dalian City, Lee Jiatun, the buckwheat Hill, three Hall Beach, have wi
29、de and flat beaches and the sea water is clean. The natural conditions are good which has great potential to develop marine tourism. In brief, because the development of the marine ecotourism products could not be separated from the old pattern and lacks of great plans, the famous brand and the high
30、-quality ecotourism projects have not been able to be formed throughout to meet the demand of the market.The layout of Dalian traveling wharfs, the design of the traveling line, the projects exploitation and management are not as desired. The wharf facility constructions are obviously lagged and too
31、 disperse in the layout. At present there are 7 regular wharfs altogether, but they are situated at backland and the tourists are few. The temporary ones are situated well but the facility is crude. The scale of existing yachts is somewhat low in the mass. Because the investment of the yachts is big
32、, the callback of the funds is slow and few enterprises are willing to participate, the market of the mid-and high-grade yachts is started up difficultly.Dalians tourism image appears as “the red tile, the green tree, the blue sea, the blue sky”. And the irrevocable image becomes more and bleaker wi
33、th the development of the northern littoral cities such as Dalian. And the new image “the marine metropolis with the European and Asian style” has not been known widely and has not set up a bright individuality or a stable psychological sensation among tourists.Sea refers to the water space, includi
34、ng surface and underwater, which is also the main features of the marine tourism resources. The sea not only has the vast sea, spectacular scenery, but also is the place for the development of a variety of cultural, recreational and sports activities, including fishing, surfing, water skiing, yachti
35、ng, diving and submarine sightseeing, marine survey and other places of tourism projects. Dalian coastlines distribute many Gulfs, and natural conditions are suitable for the conduct of marine tourism. There are famous beach resorts: Xinghai Park, Tiger Beach, Fujia zhuang, Bangchui, Golden Pebble B
36、each, Bo Lanzi cents and Bath Bay beach. These places have already developed a number of marine tourism projects, such as: the Golden Pebble Beach waterfront. The first undersea sightseeing submarine begins here. Resources are the natural and cultural landscape posed by the coastal areas with unique
37、 geological features. Dalian coast belongs to a bedrock coast, where the tortuous coastline formed with a cloth capes and bays with the erosion of the sea. The abrasion of the waves formed a mix of sea landscape. Where sea erosion are well developed; sea stacks such as Tiger Beach with its famous ti
38、ger teeth, cliffs hutouya, sea caves called Tiger Cave ; the Jinshitan has a mix of sea reefs: the beasts landing, Rose Stone, Bodhidharma facing the wall, Eight Immortals crossing the river, etc., as well known as the sea of small Guilin. In addition to the natural resrouces, the modern war remains
39、 is an important cultural landscape in Dalian. Lvshun port is the war remains of the most concentrated areas between Russia and China. Imperialism in Port Lvshun fights and left the trenches and fortifications. Monument can be seen everywhere. The entire Port is actually a huge open-air war ruins. T
40、hese venerable ruin remains museum and the cultural landscape are not only important resources for the development of tourism, but also are good places to have the education of patriotism.A characteristic is its specialty of Dalian marine tourism resources. Specialty refers to the unique coastline o
41、f Marine Geology, hydrology, flora and fauna of exotic scenery and unique Hite products. Dalian Golden Pebble Beach resources can be described as a special. There is Chinas rare and complete Sinian, Cambrian geology and geomorphology and sedimentary rocks, and a variety of fossils. The coastline str
42、etches 20km concentration in 3-6 million years ago in the Paleozoic history of geological evolution and forms a natural museum. The odd reef here is formed by a variety of sea phenomenon everywhere with colorful charm, known as the divine sculpture park. What particularly valuable and unusual here a

Ocean, which covers about 71 percent of the Earths surface, is the most important space for the future of mankind. The 21st century will be

Marine tourism is an important part in the broad prospects for the marine industry group, and the marine tourism has broad prospects for development.The so-called marine tourism refers to sum of the phenomena and relationships arising from the activities under certain soci
49、o-economic conditions, relying on the ocean, sea, sun, and sand, ocean tour to meet peoples spiritual and material needs for the purpose of entertainment, sports activities and healthcare. From the geographical point of view, the marine tourism corresponds with the land-based tourism which includes tourism in coastal areas, offshore islands, oceans, seabed and other activities. From the aspect of the distribution of tourists in tourism region in recent years,
