1、话题一:社会文化类(一When milk arrived on the doorstep Whe n I was a boy grow ing up in New Jersey in the 1960s, we had a milkma n delivering milk to our doorstep. His name was Mr. Basille. There existed a close relationship between families and their milkmen. Mr. Basille even had a key to our house, for those times whe n it was so cold outside that we

4、put the box in doors, so that the milk would nt freeze. And I remember Mr.Basille from time to time taking a break at our kitchen table, hav ing a cup of tea and telli ng stories about his delivery. There is sadly no home milk delivery today. Big compa nies allowed the producti on of cheaper milk, t

5、hus making it difficult for milkmen to compete. Besides, milk is for sale everywhere, and it may just not have bee n practical to have a delivery service. Rece ntly, an old milk box in the coun tryside I saw brought back my childhood memories. I took it home and planted it on the back porch 门廊.Every

6、 so often my sons friends will ask what it is. So I start telling stories of my boyhood, and of the milkma n who brought us frien dship along with his milk. 1.
