26、用,这种从句被称为非限制性定语从句,往往用逗号把这类从句与主句分开;非限制性定语从句中的关系词不能省略;E.g. She heard a terrible noise, which brought her heart into mouth. 她听到一声巨响,这把她的心提到了嗓子眼上;2. 限制性定语从句和非限制性定语从句的区分;1形式不同限制性定语从句与其先行词之间不用逗号隔开,非限制性定语从句与其先行词之间一般用逗号隔开;这是区分两种定语从句的主要依据;E.g. The woman , who needs constant attention , is cared for by nurses

I have a son who is now studying in the USA. 我有一个在美国学习的儿子.可能仍有儿子在别处 I have a son ,who is now studying in the USA.我有一个儿子,他现在

30、在美国学习;含有 “我只有一个儿子 ”之意;练习:翻译句子His mother ,who loves him very much, is strict with him.4 先行词不同限制性定语从句的先行词一般为单个的名词或代词;非限制性的定语从句的先行词既可以是单个的名词或代词,也可以是整个句子;E.g. Mike sold the house, which made his father very angry. 迈克把房子卖了,这使得他的父亲很愤怒;先行词为逗号前的整个句子,即卖房子这件事情练习:完成句子I can never forget the daywork and the days

34、much.(2) as 引导的从句的位置比较敏捷,可位于主句之前、之中或之后 ,而 which引导的从不能位于主句之首;E.gAs is planned ,we got there before night. 正如方案的那样,八点之前我们到了那儿;He is a foreigner , as I know from his accent. 他是一名外国人,我从他的腔调就可以知道;练习:关系词填空I live a long way from work,you know. everyone knows, China is a beautiful country with a long histor

35、y.(3) as 引导从句常常译为 “正如 ”;而 which常译为 “这,那 ”等;E.g.
