41、that years of cotton farming had worn out the soil.He taught the farmers how to fertilize the soil and how to rotate crops by planting sweet potatoes,peas,or peanuts in the fields after the cotton was picked in order to help put important nutrients back in the soil.He became an inventor to help farm
