The success of products has re
27、sulted in an increased dependency on IEEE 802.11 as a primary method for the interconnection of networking equipment. This increased dependence has resulted in a need for increased assurance that the system will not be disrupted by the actions of unauthorized equipment. Such disruption can be caused
28、 by malicious systems generating false information and impersonating valid equipment. IEEE Std 802.11-2007 as amended addresses security of data frames but systems are still vulnerable to malicious attack because management frames are unprotected. At the same time, there is an increased dependence o
29、n management frames as a result of IEEE 802.11 amendments. The purpose of this amendment is to reduce the susceptibility of systems to such attack.Notice to usersLaws and regulationsUsers of these documents should consult all applicable laws and regulations.
