19、2-xxxe-09.12_korrex Page 7 3.Product Overview 3.1 General Description EEP-12:High-performance data acquisition and evalu-ation systems for mobile vehicle testing applications.Using a combination of acquisition hardware with a tablet PC or notebook,the EEP-12 systems offer a new dimension of online v

20、ehicle testing.The housing of the new EEP-12 systems is designed to be identic with the new sensor generation,which guarantees a firm connection of the electronics housing with the EEP-12 unit.EEP-12 systems are equipped with all interfaces that modern communication requires.The operating software A

21、RMS sets new standards;it guides the user through his application.Various standard tests are already included in the software.The software also generates tables and customer reports.All functions can be modified by the customer,thus allowing the creation of individualized tests.Fig.1:EEP-12/8 System

29、(Channels)for the respective Test.Edit:It provides functionality to change the existing specifications or parameters of the Sensor.Copy/Paste:It provides functionality to copy the specifications of the sensor so that the Specifications of a sensor can be copied to another sensor.Once the user clicks

30、 the copy button the selected sensors specifications will be copied and button text changes to Paste then user can select some sensor in which the source sensors specification is pasted.Delete:It provides the functionality to permanently delete any existing Sensor.Save:It provides the functionality

31、to Save the Sensor created by the user and canceling the copying action Exit:It provides the functionality to exit the existing segment and go to Main Page.Export:It provides the functionality to export any set of Sensors for some other System(ARMS)or backup.While exporting the sensor,user has to se

32、lect the Sensor to be exported then select the destination directory and click Export.User will get a.sdb file as an output.Import:It provides the functionality to import the database file(.sdb);user has to locate and select the.sdb file and then click Import.This will update the database automatica

33、lly.Counter:In this page the user can create,modify and delete the counter sensors.The user has to give the following specification of the sensor to create a new Counter sensor.They are,1.Signal name 2.Mode 3.Low pass filter 4.Maximum(Speed,RPM,Frequency)5.Pulses 6.Offset 7.Signal Level 8.Hysteresis

34、 How to Configure Counter Channel:Signal name:It is the name of the signal.User can give any alphabet or numeric or alphanumeric value as signal name.This name will be the reference for the signal.While configuring the analog channel user can select this signal name from the sensor and then its conf

35、iguration will be assigned to that counter channel.Mode:In general there are two types of Counter:1.Event counter(distance,angle and count events)2.Time measurement(speed,revolution,frequency and time)Event counter counts all pulses within a sample interval.-The lower the sampling rate,the better th

36、e averaging.Time measurement times the interval between two defined slopes.That happens for each sample interval exactly one time.If the sequence of pulses is irregular within a sample interval,the signal varies heavily.Therefore to get a smooth signal,choose a sampling rate and average the result a

37、fterwards.According to the signal which has to be measured the user has to select the mode for the counter sensor.Low pass filter:A low-pass filter passes low-frequency signals but attenuates(reduces the amplitude of)signals with frequencies higher than the cutoff frequency.The available cutoff freq

38、uency available for counter sensors they are(20 kHz,2 kHz,0.2 kHz).Note:To avoid the Low pass filter the user can select(without)option in Low pass filter.Maximum(Speed,RPM,and Frequency):User has to enter the expected maximum value that can be measured for the test.Pulses:User has to enter the numb

39、er of pulses per minute that can be measured by the sensor.Offset:This value will be add to the measured signal.For example,if a signal has an offset of 0.5V,it can be compensated by a value of-0.5V.Signal Level:User can preset the switching level of signal.Signal level is used for strengthen the in

40、put signals magnitude.By default its value will be 1.5 and maximum value is 8.Hysteresis:User can preset the hysteresis value of the signal level.It is just like tolerance.By default it will be 0.5 and maximum value is 3.c.Sensor strain New:It provides functionality to create Sensor,classified by th

47、ctionality to create new special sensor.User has to enter the name and unit.Unit:User can edit the unit here.ADD:It provides the functionality to add the new line so that user can enter the values.Delete:It provides the functionality to delete the selected special sensor.TEST:The Test files will be

48、present in this module.User can create,save,save as,delete,configure and run the Tests here.The TEST module is classified into three categories,they are 1.Vehicle Handling Test 2.Vehicle Performance Test 3.User Defined Test Creating a Test:Creating a Test is similar for all the three categories of t

49、est.For creating a Test user have to click the“New”button from the main window of the Test page.When user clicks the“New”button the following window will appear.In this window user have to select the device in which the Test has to be created and the Test name in Experiment name and click“Done”.The

50、Test name will be added the Test list.Save&Save as:Saving a test is very simple by just clicking the“Save”button and clicking“OK“button.Save as is another option given in the save module.In which user can save on test in another name.The following window shows the save as option.User have to check t
