3、ing of this lesson,Ill enable students to know something of Christmas,and develop the interest in English learning.At the same time,let the students learn how to give a personal reaction.From this lesson,let students learn how to use Objective clauses with that/if/whether.(As we all know,reading bel

4、ongs to the input during the process of the language learning.The input has great effect on output,such as speaking and writing.)Therefore,this lesson is in the important position of this unit.If the Ss can master it well,it will be helpful for them to learn the rest of this unit.Part 2 The analysis

5、 of students The Ss have learned English for some years.They understand some words and simple sentences.They are curious,active,and fond of game,competition,and various activities.They enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere.Part 3 Teaching Aims 1.Knowledge objects (1)The Ss can

6、learn some key words and useful expressions.(2)The Ss can use the Objective clauses and exclamatory statements.(3)The Ss can talk about Christmas and understand the true meaning of Christmas 2.Ability objects(1)Develop the Ss abilitie s of listening,speaking,reading and writing (2)Guide Ss to set up

7、 effective studying strategies.(3)Improve the students reading ability,especially skimming and scanning ability.(4)Train the Ss abilit ies of studying by themselves and cooperating.3.Emotion or moral objects (1)By completing the task,the Ss increase their interest in English reading,and set up self-

10、 computer,blackboard Part 6 Teaching methods In order to help Ss develop good sense of the English language,I will use the following methods:Communicative Approach,Whole Language Teaching,Task-based Language Teaching,Total Situational Action,Computer Aided Instruction and Inspiring Assessment.Part 7

11、The procedures of the teaching There are five steps in my teaching procedures.But before teaching,I will divide the whole class into 4 groups to do competitions while finish different tasks in this lesson.Step 1 Warming-up and leading in(3mins)1.Enjoy a song.T walks into the classroom with“Jingle be

12、lls”,T prepare for the class and Ss enjoy the music.2.Free talk.Ask:What festival do you think this song is about?Christmas T shows a picture of Christmas and asks:“What do you know about Christmas?”Ss talk with partner.(December 25th,Christmas tress,Santa Claus,gifts,stockings,sing Christmas songs,

13、make Christmas trees,family gathering,get a lot of presents)Purpose:activate the Ss to regard the topic of the spirit of Christmas and create a relaxing atmosphere.Step 2 Pre-reading(10mins)There are 3 tasks for the Ss.1.A guessing game.Show some funny pictures and sentences on PPT and then ask the

14、Ss to Guess the meaning of the new words.2.Brainstorming.Practice the new words and phrases.3.Match the new words and phrases with the Chinese meanings.Purpose:through guessing,to arouse Ss learning interest,and help them to learn the new words and phrases which they may come across while reading,pa

15、ve the way for the following learning and cultivate the ability of anticipating.Step 3 While-reading(15mins)There are 5 tasks for the Ss.1.Skimming and answer a question.Look at the picture in 2b and the title to the story on page 14.Then answer the question below.What does the passage talk about?(I
