1、1.How To improve our English reading skills?Reading comprehension passages are usually of two types:exposition and narration.An exposition is writing which explains something;a narration is writing which tells a story.They are to be handled differently.When you take up a reading comprehension passag
2、e,the first thing is to tell whether the passage is an exposition or a narration.第1页/共16页2 For an exposition type passage,the method is to read the first sentence of each para-graph carefully and skip the rest of the paragraph.Youll then find some of the questions following the passage which can alr
3、eady be answered.For questions you dont have enough information to find the right answer,youll use a second method.This is to find a key word in the question itself,and then scan the passage to locate the key word.Read the sentence where the key word is,and then the answer is ready.第2页/共16页3 For a n
4、arration type passage,the method is to read the passage from the beginning and sentence by sentence.When you get an idea of what the story is about,its time to stop reading.Usually this happens when youve read one third of the passage.Try to answer the questions,and youll find you can answer some of
