5、t came to the company.我仍然记得我第一次来到公司的那一天。在两句中“the time” 和“ the day”为先行词。“ when the community center opens?”和“ when I first came to the company.”是定语从句,用于进一步明确具体的时间,并且先行词所表示的时间在从句中是表示时间的状语。如:Do you have any idea of the time when it starts? 你知道它开放的时间吗?I long for a moment when I can have a rest? 我真渴望我能好好
6、休息片刻。I still remember the day when I first met you.我仍然记得初次遇见你的那一天。、2 where 指地点,在定语从句中作地点状语。Shanghai is the city where I was born. 上海是我出生的城市。The house where I lived ten years ago has been pulled down. 我十年前住的房子已经被拆掉了。I visited the farm where a lot of cows were raised . 我参观了那个饲养了许多奶牛的农场。Is this the pla
7、ce where they fought the enemy? 这是他们当初打敌人的地方吗?3 why 指原因,在定语从句中作原因状语。Please tell me the reason why you missed the plane. 请告诉我你误机的原因。The reason why he was punished is unknown to us. 他受惩罚的原因我们都不知道。I dont know the reason why he looks unhappy today. 我不知道他今天为什么看上去不愉快。4.并非先行词是表示时间、地点和原因的词时都用when, where, wh
8、y,若先行词在定语从句中不作状语,而是作主语或宾语,就必须用which或that。 We often think of the days which we spent together in the countryside. which在定语从句中作宾语比较: We often think of the days when we worked together in the countryside. when在定语从句中作时间状语,相当于 on the days。We believe the reason that he told us. 比较: The reason why/for whic
9、h he was absent yesterday is still unknown.他昨天缺席的原因还不清楚。 注意:关系副词when, where和why也可用“介词+which”来代替,要注意其先行词(名词)及介词的合理搭配,介词根据先行词或定语从句的谓语动词来确定。 when 相当于“at/in/on/during + which” where 相当于“in/at/on + which” why 相当于“for + which” From the years when / in which he was going to primary school in the country ,h
10、e had known what he wanted to be when he grew up. 自从他在农村读小学时,他就已经知道长大后要做什么。 Great changes are taking place in the city where / in which they live. 他们生活的城市正发生巨大的变化。 The reason why / for which he refused the invitation is quite clear. 他为什么拒绝接受邀请的原因是十分明了的。 Is this the day when/on which I visited the mu
11、seum?是我参观博物馆的那天吗? Please put the letter on the desk where/on which he can easily find it.请把信放到他比较容易找到的桌子上。This is the reason why/for which he didnt come to the meeting.这就是他为什么没来开会的原因。结论:只有当 “介词+关系代词”充当地点状语、时间状语或原因状语时,才能用关系副词代替。Activity1 6 Read and underline.读下面的短文,用下画线标出由“when , where,which,that” 引导
