1、复习知识点1：过去进行时1.定义：过去进行时常表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作。2.构成:was/were+doing3.用法:A、过去某个时间点正在发生的动作时间点可由介词短语，副词或从句来表示What was she doing at nine last night?(跟介词短语）When I saw him he was singing.（when从句表示时间点）B、过去一段时间内一直在进行的动作，常用的时间状语有thismorning,all day yesterday,from nine to ten last evening.We were watching TV f
2、rom 7 to 9 last night.What was he doing all day last Sunday?3.用法:C、描述一件事发生的背景，一个长动作发生时，另一个短动作发生。常用when或者while引导的从句。It was rainning when they left.I fell down while I was riding my bike.D、在复合句中，如果主要动作和背景动作都是延续性的或同时发生的，那么主句从句都可用过去进行时。While he was waiting for bus,he was reading a newspaper(可数名词).He was
3、 cleaning his room while I was cooking.3.用法:E、用过去进行时代替过去将来时It was getting warmer and warmer.He was dying.4.注意:过去进行时和一般过去时的区别一般过去式常表示在过去某时发生的动作或存在的状态（包括过去习惯动作），常与一般过去时连用的时间状语有just now,a moment ago,yesterday,last week(month,year),the day before yesterday及表示过去的时间状语从句。4.注意:过去进行时和一般过去时的区别而过去进行时多与持续性的时间状语
4、连用。如：I was sixteen years old last year.He worked in a factory in 2013.I met her in the street the day before yesterday.He often swam in the river when he was young.It was rainning all night.4.注意:过去进行时和一般过去时的区别过去进行时强调某一行为的片断，强调过程，不一定完成。而一般过去时表示行为的整体和状态，多已完成。I was reading a book at that time.(不一定读完)I
5、read a book yestererday.(已完成)另外注意when和while的相同点和不同点相同点：多数时when 和while可以转换使用。例:Mary was having dinner when/while I saw her.不同点：如果在选择题中，如果while 和when同时出现，while+延续性动作，而when+短暂性或延续性动作。Linda was just going out for shopping_ the telephone rang.A.when B.while while 一边，一边;表示前后情况对比，或同时发生，如：Mother was cooking
