1、综合英语课程中引入英美文化必要性(商务英语)The Necessity of Introducing English and American Culture in Comprehensive English TeachingAbstract As economic globalization develops, college students have more chances to connect with the international stage, so their intercultural communication ability also faces severe cha

2、llenges. Under such circumstances, more attention is given to the cultivation of students cultural awareness so that students can communicate effectively and successfully in the complex and changeable cultural environment. However, Chinese traditional English teaching classes focus more on basic Eng

3、lish knowledge, neglecting necessary combination of language learning and cultural environment.This wrong teaching mode leads students to simply understand the use of English language, resulting in many mistakes during the communication process and the effect of communication is thus greatly reduced

4、. In fact, this also indicates the need for combing language knowledge and cultural knowledge. In this way, students can gradually develop cultural thinking ability, and promote the smooth progress of cross-cultural communication. First of all, this paper depicts the current situation and problems o

5、f English teaching courses in China. Then, it analyzes the relationship between language and culture. The most important part is about the necessity of introducing English-American culture in comprehensive English classes. For this, the author has conducted a questionnaire survey among students in a

6、 university on the problems existing in the comprehensive English teaching class. The results prove that the current English teaching class needs to be improved and the feasibility of introducing British and American culture into the curriculum. Although there may be a few shortcomings in the paper,

7、 the author hopes to provide some enlightenment for the present English teaching mode. As a result, we can improve students’ comprehensive ability of using English and make cross-cultural communication more positive, smooth and effective.Keywords: comprehensive English teaching, English and Am

8、erican culture, cross-culture communication在综合英语课程中引入英美文化的必要性摘要随着经济全球化的发展,高校学生拥有着更多与国际舞台接轨的机遇而他们的跨文化沟通实力也面临着严峻的挑战。在这种情势下,我们更加注意培育高校学生的文化意识,以便使他们在困难多变的文化环境下胜利有效地沟通。但我国传统的英语教学课堂往往重视的是基本英语学问实力的传授,忽视了语言学问的学习与文化环境相结合。这种错误的教学模式导致学生只是单纯的懂得英语语言的用法,他们在交际过程屡次出现失误,沟通效果也大打折扣。事实上,这也指出了将语言学问与文化学问相结合的必要性,从而逐步培育学生的

9、文化思维实力,促进跨文化沟通的顺当进行。本文首先描述了我国英语课程教学的现状和存在的问题。其次,从理论上分析了语言与文化的关系。本文最重要的部分是强调在综合英语课中引入英美文化的必要性。为此,笔者还对某高校学生进行了问卷调查,对其在英语综合课堂教学中存在的问题进行了调查。探讨结果表明,现行的英语教学模式有待改进,英美文化融入课程的可行性有待提高。虽然本文可能存在一些不足之处,但笔者希望能给外语教学方法带来一些启示,从而提高高校生英语综合运用实力,使跨文化交际更加主动、顺畅、有效。关键词:综合英语教学;英美文化;跨文化交际 ContentsAbstract . 摘 摘 要 . 16、and the society requires more talents to master English. As one of the basic courses for English majors, comprehensive English greatly affects the improvement of English ability. By understanding and mastering comprehensive English courses, it can promote the use of English ability. In the meantime,

17、 it makes us more qualified for the demands of the modern world for talents. This requires English teaching model to keep up with the world and infiltrate relevant contents of cross-cultural context into English courses. Furthermore, it should improve students English learning ability and oralexpres

18、sion ability. However, not all universities are aware of the importance of comprehensive English courses. Teachers often attach importance to the mastery of language knowledge, ignore the social circumstance where language exists, and ignore the introduction of knowledge of other cultures. As a resu

19、lt, students spend most of their time memorizing words and doing exercises, ignoring the improvement of practical application of English. In the past, although Chinese scholars have analyzed the causes of these problems from many aspects, they generally discussed from the teaching skills, teaching e

20、nvironment, teaching equipment and so on. For example, they suggested that we could change the teaching philosophy, make rational use of multimedia tools and enrich classroom evaluation mode. Obviously, these suggestions have ignored the perspective of cultural knowledge. This paper consists of six

21、parts. Part one is the introduction of current situation in the comprehensive English courses, which also includes problems existing in the curriculum. Part two is the connection between language and culture. And it analyzes from an overview of the relevant theory. A book, Language and Culture provi

22、des some evidence for the connection between them. It also further explores and explains from several elements of culture. Part three is the methodology of the paper. It emphasizes how necessary it is to introduce English and American culture into comprehensive English courses. After pointing out th

23、e importance of this measure, part four provides the methods to put this necessity into practice. Part five gives the potential effects of this measure. The last part is the conclusion of this paper, which aims to indicate the necessity of introducing culture into comprehensive English curriculum. 1
