1、Unit 4 Global warming 教学设计第6课时Period 6 Summing Up, Learning Tip andAssessment一、教学内容分析This is the last teaching period of this unit, so the emphasis should be placed on going over and summarizing what has been learned in this unit. It includes the following parts: Summing Up, Learning Tip, Checking Y

2、ourself and some other consolidation exercises.Summing Up summarizes the whole unit from the aspects of topics and vocabulary and grammar. The teacher can first use this part to let students sum up what they have learned in this unit and then let them find out what they cant understand very well.Lea

3、rning Tip gives students instructions on which kind of nouns begin with a capital letter. Let the students think about what they already know about the rules and what new information they will find.Checking Yourself on Page 68 in the Workbook aims at encouraging students to make a self-assessment af

4、ter they finish learning this unit. It is very important to improve their learning. 9、 may vary.)The temperature of the earth rose about one degree Fahrenheit during the 20th century. It is human activity that has caused this global warming. All scientists subscribe to the view that the increase in the earths temperature is due to the burning of fossil fuels. Some byproducts of this

10、process are called greenhouse gases, which trap heat and warm the earth. Without the greenhouse effect, the earth would be cooler than it is. But scientists dont agree with each other on the effects of global warming. Some think it will be a disaster, but some others think its a good thing and we ca
