3、treatmentanalysis,andelectricalengineering.Ialsohadpracticecoursesonlathework,benchwork,casting,engineeringdrawing,andelectronictelevisionrepairskill.Aftergraduationfromthistechnicalschool,IfoundajobattheEvergreenTrafficCorp.WhenIhadworkedoneyearinmechanicaldesignandheattreatmentanalysis,Iwasadmitte
4、dtotheComputerScienceDepartmentofBeijingInstituteofTechnologies.Computerscienceeducationwasanextensionofmypursuitinelectronicknowledge,ithadledmeintotheworldofappliedelectronics.CoursesIhadtakenare:Calculus,ComputerProgramming(FORTRAN,COBOL,ASSEMBLY,andBASIC),Computerarchitecture,algorithm,maintenan
5、ce,systemanalysis,andsomerelatedcoursesinAccounting,Statistics,Operatingresearch,Digitalvalueanalysis.Beginningatthesecondyearofcollege,IparticipatedinaworkstudyprogramandwasassignedtothecomputercenterofFarEastTextileCorp.asnight-shiftcomputeroperator,ThecomputersIdealtwithwereCDC3300MSOSandIBM370-1
6、15DOS/VSsystem.ThemajorworkIhaddonewasthesystemtransferenceofCDC3300:MSOStoIBM370-115DOS/VS.In1989,IwasemployedbyChinaAutomobileCorp.asacomputerprogrammer,andwasinformedtoworkonthefirstofJune.Forthefirstsixmonthsofmyservice,IwasinchargeoftheIBM4331;DOS/VSESystemOperation,andlaterondealtwithpersonnel
7、/payrollandfinancingsystemprogrammingworks.Inthesecondyear,Iwaspromotedtobeasystemanalystforpersonnel/payrollsystem.Inanattempttoupgradetheefficiencyofcomputerdataprocessandtosimplifyusersoperatingprocedures,IredesignedthewholeworkingsystemandIsuccessfullytransferredaBatchoperationfromorientedsystem
8、toon-linesystem.Inthethirdyear,Ispentfivemonthsinthedevelopingofsubsystemoffinancing-accounting.NosoonerhadIfinishedthatsystemthanIwasreassignedasaSubsystemProgrammerinchargeofDOS/VSE,CICS,andVTAM.AtthatpositionIhavefullresponsibilityforaffairsoftechnicaltransition,systemdevelopment,recruittraining,
9、andnetworkcommunications.Withtheelapseoftimeandtheaccumulationofexperiences,Iamnowfamiliarwithallofthepopularcomputerlanguages:FORTRAN,COBOL,ASSEMBLY,andBASIC.Otherthantheselanguages,Ihavealsolearnedandpracticedinplanning,designing,andanalyzingofthefollowingcomputerapplications:DL/1,DataBase,On-line
10、(CICS,BMS),DataCommunicationNetwork(ACF/VTAM/NCP),VM,DOS/VSEOperatingSystem:Personnel/Payroll,AccountingApplicationSystemandetc.FortheseachievementsIoweagreatdealtoChinaInformationAssociationSinceIhavetakenalmosteverytrainingcoursetheyhaveoffered.Withtheever-increasinglevelofmywork,Iamfeelingstrongl
11、ythatthetheoreticalstudyandactualpracticeareequallyimportantanddependentoneachother.ThoughIpersonallypossessmanyyearsofexperiencesinactualpractices,thereisalwaysneedformetoextendmyexistingtheoreticalbasisforfutureresearch.Myloveforcomputersciencesandmyinquisitivenesshadpushedmetoapplyforyourgraduate
12、schooladmission,andIhavedecided.shouldIbeacceptedbyyou,Iwillconcentrateonthefieldofnet-work-data-communication,thenmakeabreakthroughonmycurrentwaysofthinkingincomputerrelatedresearchanddevelopment.Finally,IexpectthatI,myself,asonememberoftoday’sworldofcomputerdomain,Ishouldstrivetooffermybestprofessionalcomputerservicetooursociety.
