5、s reporters. Using skill and strength, Corbett led the way up one of the most difficult routes on Half Dome. And Wellman was there for his able-bodied friend early in the climb when pieces of rock gave way, 700 feet above the group, and Corbett plunged downward. Wellman locked their rope in place, s
6、topping the fall at 20 feet. When it was all over, both men spoke as if there hadnt been a serious problem, but by acting quickly, Wellman probably saved his friends life.
