3、 designated for undergraduate students of economics (including finance) by the Economics Education Steering Committee of Ministry of Education. This course need the students learn theory through real life practice in order to analyze financial issues happening in both domestic and abroad. Through st
4、udying this course, the students are expected to master the basic knowledge of economics of money and banking, and to analysis real life money and banking phenomena. The following basic knowledge includes in the course: money and its role, finance definition, the origin of banking, commercial bankin
5、g, central banking, investment banking or security firms, credit and interest, financial markets, deposit and loan, future, options, swap, forward, mutual fund, pricing theory of benchmark financial products, stock and bond, banking crisis, financial stability, inflation and deflation, money demand
6、and money supply, monetary policy, foreign exchange and exchange rates, international financial and monetary institutions. As a basic discipline course, The Economics of Money, Banking, and Financial Markets (EMBFM) will provide an introduction to the fields of money, banking, and financial markets.
7、 The students will be able to develop a basic framework for understanding those topics such as the money, banking and financial markets. The main goal is that they are well prepared for the study of the follow-up specialization courses, or for their future career. In addition, the students are expec
8、ted to be aware of the role of Chinese financial sector in the contemporary dynamic world. For example, International Monetary Fund, the World Bank Group, the BrettonWood System, Post Bretton Wood era, G20, New Development Bank(NDB), Asian Infrastructural Investment Bank(AIIB), all of those are basi
9、c contents that students should thoroughly study. Chinas role in the field of international finance is a very important content to study. In addition, finance plays a huge role in the field of economy and monetary policy of a country, then through this course study the students will learn the dynami
10、c evolution of domestic and international monetary system, contemporary Chinese role in the field of international finance, how AIIB and NDB coming into real world, the G20 role in international economic policy cooperation, and other important contents, all of which will improve the students9 confid
