7、epartments. Now the Storage Tank Construction and Inspection for Vertical Cylindrical Steel Welded Tanks, GBJ128-90, has been approved as National Standard, and is implemented on March 1st, 1991. 9、r Vertical Cylindrical Steel Welded Tanks3Description of the CompilationThis standard is jointly compiled by Original Ministry of Petroleum Industry together with the related departments according to the requirements from the Document 1985 No.1 issued by the Summarization Department of the State Pla
10、nning Commission.During the compilation of this standard, the Standard Compilation Group carried out comprehensive investigations, summed up the practices of Oil Tank construction over a long period of time, made reference to the relevant international standards and overseas advanced standards, carr
11、ied on scientific research and examination and verification for the major technique issues, and held counsel extensively with the relevant departments all over the country. Eventually, this standard was examined and finalized by this ministry jointly with other related departments.Since it is the fi

19、 standard is stipulated to unify the specifications on construction, check and acceptance of Vertical Type Cylindrical Steel Weld oil tanks and to guarantee construction quality of oil tanks, adjusting to the demands on the construction and development of oil tank.1.0.2 This standard is applicable t
20、o the construction, check and acceptance of the body of the vertical type cylindrical steel weld oil tank, which was built on the ground and stores liquid petroleum and petroleum products, and the accessories welded with it.1.0.3 Oil tanks shall be built according to the design documentation. In cas
21、e modifications of design are needed, they must be approved by the original design entity.1.0.4 The prefabrication, installation and examination of oil tanks shall be conducted with the metering and testing instrument with the identical class of accuracy. 1.0.5 Construction, check and acceptance of
22、oil tanks shall be conformed to the relevant regulations of the national active standards and specifications, besides the regulations of this standard.1Chapter 2 Check and Acceptance of Materials2.0.1 Materials and accessories chosen to construct the oil tanks shall possess certificate of quality. I
23、n case there is no certificate of quality or the certificate is dubious, reexamination shall be carried out for the materials and accessories. Only when it is qualified, it can be allowed to use.2.0.2 Welding materials (welding rods, welding wires and welding flux) shall possess certificates of qual
24、ity. The certificate of quality for welding rods shall include the chemical composition and mechanical property of the deposited metal; besides these, low-hydrogen-type electrode shall include the diffusible hydrogen content of the deposited metal. In case there is no certificate of quality or the c
25、ertificate is dubious, reexamination shall be carried out for the welding materials.2.0.3 Visual inspection shall be carried out for each of the steel plates chosen to construct oil tanks, and its surface quality shall be conformed to the relevant regulations of active standards about steel plates.2
26、.0.4 The sum of the thickness reduction caused by rustiness and corrosion on the surface of the steel plate, the scratch depth, and the actual minus deviation of the steel plate shall accord with the specifications of the allowable deviations on steel plates in Table 2.0.4Allowable Deviation on the

28、 national active standard, Ultrasonic Flaw Detection for 2Steel Sheet of Pressure Vessel”. If the test result reaches Level III, it is qualified. For the steel plate whose yield points is equal to or less than 390 MPa, 20 of steel plates shall be chosen and tested; in case any unqualified steel plat
29、e is found, the steel plates shall be tested one by one; for the steel plates whose yield points is greater than 390 MPa, they shall be tested one by one.3Chapter 3 PrefabricationSection 1 General Rules3.1.1 The template used in prefabrication, fabrication and examination of the oil tanks shall conf
30、orm to the following regulations:A. In case the curvature radius of the component is equal to or less than 12.5 m, the chord length of the arc template shall not be less than 1.5 m; in case the curvature radius is more than 12.5 m, the chord length of the arc template shall not be less than 2m;B. Th
31、e length of straight-line template shall not be less than 1 m;C. To test the arc template with any deformed weld corner, its chord length shall not be less than 1 m.3.1.2 Cutting steel plates and processing weld bevels shall conform to the following regulations:A. It is advisable to cut steel plates
32、 and process weld bevels through mechanical treatment, automatic, or semiautomatic flame cutting, and it is possible to manually flame-cut the arc-shaped edge on the oil tank top plate and the bottom edge plate of the oil tank.B. The edges of the steel plates, which are used for weld joints and whos
33、e thickness is more than 10 mm, and those, which are used for overlap joints and whose thickness is more than 16mm, should not be processed by cutting.C. In case the temperature of work environment is lower than the temperatures listed below, the steel materials shall not be processed by cutting:1.
34、Common Straight Carbon Steel:-16;2. Low Alloy Steel: -12;3.1.3 The machined surface of the steel plate edge shall be smooth. There shall be no defects like dross inclusion, delamination, cracks, and fused dross. Carburized layer caused by flame cutting on bevels shall be ground off.3.14 In case the
35、steel plates whose yield point is greater than 390 MPa are used as the first ring and the second ring of the shell, magnaflux flaw detection or permeation flaw detection shall be carried out for bevel surfaces in accordance with the regulations of 6.2.9 of this standard.3.1.5 In case there is no dra
36、wing and requirements for the type and size of weld joints, the joints shall be 4chosen in accordance with the active national standard, Basic Types and Sizes of Weld Joints by Manual Electric Arc Welding and Basic Types and Size of Weld Joints by Submerged Arc Welding. It is advisable that the type
37、 of the electro-gas welded joints of longitudinal seams and the type of the submerged arc welded joints of circumferential seams shall be conformed to the following requirements:A. The clearance of the butt joints whose longitudinal seams are electro-gas-welded shall be 46mm, the rounded edge shall

The bevel angle of the butt joints whose circumferential seams are submerged arc welded shall be 45, the root face shall not be more than 2 mm,
39、 and the clearance shall be 01 mm (Fig. 3.15-1)Fig. 3.1.5-2 Types of Butt Joints Whose Circumferential Seams Are Submerged Arc Welded.3.1.6 In case the work environment temperature of common straight carbon steel is lower than -16, or the work environment temperature of low alloy steel is lower than
40、 -12, gagging and cold bending shall not be conducted.3.1.7 During the preservation, transportation and piling of the prefabricated components, effective measures shall be taken to prevent distortion, damage and rustiness and corrosion.Section 2 Prefabrication of Shell Plate3.2.1 Preparation Drawing
41、 shall be accomplished before the prefabrication of shell plates. and it shall accord with the following regulations:A. It is advisable that the longitudinal welds on each ring of shell plate is staggered circle after circle in the same direction, and the clearance shall be 13 of the plate length, a
42、nd meanwhile, it shall not be less than 500 mm.B. The clearance between the longitudinal weld on the shell plate of the bottom ring and the butt weld on the edge plate of the oil tank bottom shall not be less than 200 mm;5C. The clearance from the nozzle or the outer edges of the stiffening plate fo
43、r the nozzle on the oil tank shell to the longitudinal weld of the oil tank shell shall not be less than 200 mm, and the clearance to the circumferential weld shall not be less than 100 mm;D. The clearance from the butt joints of wrapping steel angles to the longitudinal welds of shell plates shall
44、not be less than 200 mm;E. The shell plate width of the oil tank whose diameter is less than 12.5 m shall not be less than 500 mm, and its length shall not be less than 1000 mm. The shell plate width of the oil tank whose diameter is equal to or more than 12.5 m shall not be less than 1000 mm, and i
45、ts length shall not be less than 2000 mm.3.2.2 The allowable deviation for the dimensions of the shell plate shall accord with the standards in Table 3.2.2 (Fig. 3.2.2).
