1、Unit 4 What can you doLets TalkGood afternoon, dear judges. Its my great honor to be here to share my teaching ideas. Today my topic is Unit 4 What can you do? I am going to introduce my lesson from the following aspects:Part 1, , The analysis of teaching materialsThe unit is from PEP English book,
2、the first semester of grade 5. The topic of this unit is about some recreational and sports activities and what students can do. Through this part, students can share their hobbies with others, so that their speaking and listening abilities can be improved.Part 2, , The analysis of studentsStudents
3、who are in Grade 5 are active, curious to new interesting things. They have accumulated some basic English knowledge, but most of them are not confident to express themselves, so I will arrange more interesting activities in order to provide them more chances to speak in English.Part 3, ee, The anal
4、ysis of teaching aimsAccording to the analysis of teaching materials and students , I set following teaching aims . The first one is knowledge aims :students can understand and master the the new words and phrases such as play the pipa, dance ,sing English songs,and they can use sentence patterns :
5、“What can you do?” I canThe second one is ability aims : students can improve theirlistening and speaking skill and can use the vocabularies and sentence patterns to talk about What they can do fluently .The third one is emotional aims : Students can try their best to do what they can.Part 4, r, The
6、 analysis of key points and difficult pointsIt is easy to see that the key points is to master the new words and sentences . The difficult points is to speak What they can do freely and accurately in their daily life by using the new vocabularies and sentences.Part five,The analysis of teaching meth
7、odsril mainly use Task-based teaching method” , “Total physical response approach” and Situational teaching method”. Various methods can let students more focus on the class.Part six, The analysis of teaching proceduresNow, lets move to the most important part of this lesson: teaching procedures. Th
8、is part is divided into 5 steps, that is, Warming-up, presentation, practice, production and summary & homework. And this specific steps and time allocation.Step 1 Warming-upGreetings1. Sing songIn this stage,! will greet students as usual and let students sing the song what can you do?” which is a
9、good way to attract students9 attention and active the learning atmosphere.Step 2 Presentationwatch and answerFirstly,! will show the party invitation from Miss white to guide student to know the meaning and pragmatic situation of key sentence patterns by practicing the sentence Well have an English
10、 party next Tuesday”.Then students will asked to watch a video of main scene,which can lead to the vocabularies: play the pipa ,dance, sing English song, and lead to the sentence patterns* What can you do I can.”.1. Look and readLet students look at some pictures of Zoom ,Zoom is talented, not only
11、he can sing ,but also he can draw pictures and do some kung fu. Which can lead to the new vocabularies and sentence patterns in different way.2. Read and doPractice above vocabularies twice after me,in this stage J will encourage students do the actions at the same time .For example, I would ask stu
12、dents to pretend they are Kung fu panda, then they can say “I can do some kung fu“ with action like this .And I will invite somebody to perform it and tell them its a good exercise to keep fit, thus this process can realize the emotional aims of cultivating more good hobbies in daily life if they ar
13、e interested.3. Listen and tickI will let students to Listen and describe the pictures by sentence he can, which can helpkids catch the key points and improve their listening skills.4. Watch and thinkthe last but most important presentation is Let*s Talk.lead to the students watch the conversations
14、and answer the question what can Zhang Peng and John do for the party?Which can activate students thinking about the dialogue.Step 3 Practice1. listen and repeatListen and repeat the conversations ,which is in order to improve the pronunciation and intonation of students.2 .Read in roles. Suppose gi
15、rls are Miss White,Boys are Zhang peng , Im John,Lets read together.3 .Role-play in groupsLets students role-play the dialogue in groups. 3 students a group.I will give them 2 minutes to practice and invite several groups to share their performance. I would tell them that if they arc speak loudly th
16、ey will get one gift; speak loudly with the actions will get two gifts,besides,after their performances I tend to give some positive evaluations.This methods can help them more confident to express themselves in English.Step4 ProductionI will set a situation that I have a English party and need stud
17、ents to help me plan the party with these programs. Of course ,1 will interview some students as a demonstration.For instance, “What can you do, Ming Ming?Then I will let the leader of groups to interview others with this dialogues and complete the program sheet. And finally show it in the stage,whi
18、ch enable students to enjoy English communicating with each other in daily life.In the end,I will tell them they are helpful, they can get ready for the party. They are talented, they can perform at the party.Whatever they do, must try their best,and do what they can.Step 5 Summary and homework. Sum
