32、un,but it also gives you a huge sense of accomplishment if you do set a world record.2021/8/11 星期三42You might also be thinking that you would have no chance of setting a record.Well,there are actually plenty of chances because about a quarter of records in the Guinness Book of World Records are brok
33、en each year.2021/8/11 星期三43So,lets say youve decided to give it a go.The first thing Id recommend would be to look through the Guinness Book and choose a category that catches your eye and that you would find fun to do.You have a much greater chance of setting a record if theres a category for it i
34、n the book.Dont Choose something unless youre certain its a category.2021/8/11 星期三44I know of someone who pogo-sticked up the stairs of the tallest building in the world.It was filmed and he hoped that the Guinness office would accept it.Well,they didnt because there wasnt a category for it.2021/8/1
35、1 星期三45Now,if you have a new idea for a category,contact the Guinness office before going ahead with your record attempt.And,a piece of advice theyre more likely to accept it if they think other people would be interested in challenging your record.2021/8/11 星期三46OK.Now,once youve chosen your event,
36、you have to train for it.Its a good idea to build up your training slowly.For example,if the record for jumping jacks is thee thousand,dont try and do that many straight away.2021/8/11 星期三47When youve done enough training,do a trial run just so you can see if anythings going to go wrong.And,when you
37、 are trying for a record,if something does go wrong,dont give up.Try and fix the problem and if you cant,try and work with the problem.2021/8/11 星期三48I knew a guy whose machine got stuck at a very low speed but instead of stopping his record attempt,he just did the whole distance at that low speed.2
