For one week, she did not do any housework, and neither did I. neither 用作副词,作“也不”说明,放在句首,表示前面否定的内容也适用于另一个人或物,句子须采纳部分倒装。此时也可用nor替换 neither 运用。例如: Idontlikethisdress.我不喜爱这件连衣裙。 Neither/NordoI.我也不喜爱。 留意:neither 之后的主语要置于助动词或系动词之后。 neit

31、her 用作代词,表示“两者都不,双方均不”。例如: Heansweredneitheroftheletters.他两封信都没回。 Whichonewouldyoulike?你喜爱哪一个? Neither. 两个都不喜爱。 also, too, either, neither 的用法 1) also 是比较正式的用语,语气较庄重。它通常放在句中,位于行为动词之前,连系动词之后; 如有助动词或情态动词,一般放在助动词或情态动词之后。例如: Peter also has two brothers. 彼得也有两个兄弟。 I am also a student. 我也是一名学生。 Mrs. Green

Tom doesnt know him, either. 我不相识他,汤姆也不相识他。 If you dont go there, he wont go there, either. 假如你不去那

33、儿,他也不会去那儿。 留意:either 本身没有否定的意义。所以多与 not 连用。 4) neither 表示“两个都不”,它作主语时,谓语动词常用单数。例如: Neither of you can do it. 你们两个都不能做这件事。 neither . nor .意为“既不也不”,用于连接两个并列成分。当连接两个并列主语时,谓语动词通常要与nor后面的代词或名词在人称和数上保持一样。如: We had neither money nor food. Yes, you can. / No, you cant. 在表示恳求帮助或恳求允许的疑问句中,常用could代替can,以表示礼貌,委婉或不确定的语气,而can则不具备这些语气。这种状况下不能把could看作can的过去式。以上两句

42、中用could是为了表示礼貌的恳求。表示恳求帮助或恳求允许时,除了can, could之外,还可以用may,句子的表达方式也各有不同,可以用不同的方式来表示同一个概念。例: Could/Can/May I use your car for a day? I wonder if I could use your car for a day? 对于、句所作允答可以各种各样,犹如意可以说Yes或Sure或Certainly,还可说Yes, (do) please. 或Of course. (you may/can). 或Go ahead, please. 或Thats OK/all right; 假如不同意,可以说Im sorry you cant. 或Im really sorry, but I have to use it today. 要避开说No, you cant. 这样显得很不礼貌。否定回答通常用委婉语气。 Do you mind if I use your car for a day? 对于句所作回答可以说Never mind. /Not at all. 表“不介意”。
