1、克林顿总统第一次就职演说名人演讲稿Myfellowcitizens:TodaywecelebratethemysteryofAmericanrenewal.Thisceremonyisheldinthedepthofwinter,butbythewordswespeakandthefacesweshowtheworld,weforcethespring.Aspringrebornintheworldsoldestdemocracy,thatbringsforththevisionandcouragetoreinventAmerica.WhenourfoundersboldlydeclaredA
2、mericasindependencetotheworld,andourpurposestotheAlmighty,theyknewthatAmerica,toendure,wouldhavetochange.Notchangeforchangesake,butchangetopreserveAmericasideals:life,liberty,thepursuitofhappiness.Thoughwemarchtothemusicofourtime,ourmissionistimeless.EachgenerationofAmericansmustdefinewhatitmeanstob
3、eanAmerican.Onbehalfofournation,Isalutemypredecessor,PresidentBush,forhishalf-centuryofservicetoAmerica,andIthankthemillionsofmenandwomenwhosesteadfastnessandsacrificetriumphedoverdepression,fascismandcommunism.Today,agenerationraisedintheshadowsoftheColdWarassumesnewresponsibilitiesinaworldwarmedby
4、thesunshineoffreedom,butthreatenedstillbyancienthatredsandnewplagues.Raisedinunrivalledprosperity,weinheritaneconomythatisstilltheworldsstrongest,butisweakenedbybusinessfailures,stagnantwages,increasinginequality,anddeepdivisionsamongourownpeople.WhenGeorgeWashingtonfirsttooktheoathIhavejustsworntou
5、phold,newstravelledslowlyacrossthelandbyhorseback,municationsandcommerceareglobal.Investmentismobile.Technologyisalmostmagical,andambitionforabetterlifeisnowuniversal.WeearnourlivelihoodinAmericatodayinpeacefulcompetitionwithpeopleallacrosstheEarth.Profoundandpowerfulforcesareshakingandremakingourwo
6、rld,andtheurgentquestionofourtimeiswhetherwecanmakechangeourfriendandnotourenemy.ThisnewworldhasalreadyenrichedthelivesofmillionsofAmericanswhoareabletocompeteandwininit.Butwhenmostpeopleareworkingharderforless,whenotherscannotworkatall,whenthecostofhealthcaredevastatesfamiliesandthreatenstobankrupt
7、ourenterprises,greatandsmall;whenthefearofcrimerobslawabidingcitizensoftheirfreedom;andwhenmillionsofpoorchildrencannotevenimaginetheliveswearecallingthemtolead,wehavenotmadechangeourfriend.Weknowwehavetofacehardtruthsandtakestrongsteps,butwehavenotdoneso.Insteadwehavedrifted,andthatdriftinghaserode
8、dourresources,fracturedoureconomy,andshakenourconfidence.Thoughourchallengesarefearsome,soareourstrengths.Americanshaveeverbeenarestless,questing,hopefulpeople,andwemustbringtoourtasktodaythevisionandwillofthosewhocamebeforeus.FromourRevolutiontotheCivilWar,totheGreatDepression,totheCivilRightsmovem
9、ent,ourpeoplehavealwaysmusteredthedeterminationtoconstructfromthesecrisesthepillarsofourhistory.ThomasJeffersonbelievedthattopreservetheveryfoundationsofournationwewouldneeddramaticchangefromtimetotime.Well,myfellowAmericans,thisisourtime.Letusembraceit.Ourdemocracymustbenotonlytheenvyoftheworldbutt
10、heengineofourownrenewal.ThereisnothingwrongwithAmericathatcannotbecuredbywhatisrightwithAmerica.Andsotodaywepledgeanendtotheeraofdeadlockanddrift,andanewseasonofAmericanrenewalhasbegun.TorenewAmericawemustbebold.Wemustdowhatnogenerationhashadtodobefore.Wemustinvestmoreinourownpeople,intheirjobs,andi
11、ntheirfuture,andatthesametimecutourmassivedebt.andwemustdosoinaworldinwhichwemustcompeteforeveryopportunity.Itwillnotbeeasy.Itwillrequiresacrifice,butitcanbedone,anddonefairly.Notchoosingsacrificeforitsownsake,butforourownsake.Wemustprovideforournationthewayafamilyprovidesforitschildren.Ourfounderss
12、awthemselvesinthelightofposterity.Wecandonoless.Anyonewhohaseverwatchedachildseyeswanderintosleepknowswhatposterityis.Posterityistheworldtocome,theworldforwhomweholdourideals,fromwhomwehaveborrowedourplanet,andtowhomwebearsacredresponsibilities.WemustdowhatAmericadoesbest,offermoreopportunitytoallan
13、ddemandmoreresponsibilityfromall.Itistimetobreakthebadhabitofexpectingsomethingfornothing:fromourgovernment,orfromeachother.Letusalltakemoreresponsibility,notonlyforourselvesandourfamilies,butforourcommunitiesandourcountry.TorenewAmericawemustrevitalizeourdemocracy.Thisbeautifulcapitol,likeeverycapi

16、,agovernmentforourtomorrows,notouryesterdays.Letusgivethiscapitolbacktothepeopletowhomitbelongs.TorenewAmericawemustmeetchallengesabroad,aswellasathome.Thereisnolongeracleardivisionbetweenwhatisforeignandwhatisdomestic.Theworldeconomy,theworldenvironment,theworldAIDScrisis,theworldarmsrace:theyaffec
17、tusall.Todayasanoldorderpasses,thenewworldismorefree,munismscollapsehascalledfortholdanimosities,andnewdangers.Clearly,Americamustcontinuetoleadtheworldwedidsomuchtomake.WhileAmericarebuildsathome,wewillnotshrinkfromthechallengesnorfailtoseizetheopportunitiesofthisnewworld.Togetherwithourfriendsanda
18、llies,wewillworktogethertoshapechange,lestitengulfus.Whenourvitalinterestsarechallenged,orthewillandconscienceoftheinternationalcommunityisdefied,wewillact;withpeacefuldiplomacywheneverpossible,withforcewhennecessary.ThebraveAmericansservingournationtodayinthePersianGulf,inSomalia,andwhereverelsethe
19、ystand,aretestamenttoourresolve,butourgreateststrengthisthepowerofourideas,whicharestillnewinmanylands.Acrosstheworld,weseethemembracedandwerejoice.Ourhopes,ourhearts,ourhands,arewiththoseoneverycontinent,whoarebuildingdemocracyandfreedom.TheircauseisAmericascause.TheAmericanpeoplehavesummonedthecha
20、ngewecelebratetoday.Youhaveraisedyourvoicesinanunmistakablechorus,youhavecastyourvotesinhistoricnumbers,youhavechangedthefaceofcongress,thepresidency,andthepoliticalprocessitself.Yes,you,myfellowAmericans,haveforcedthespring.Nowwemustdotheworktheseasondemands.TothatworkInowturnwithalltheauthorityofm
21、yoffice.Iaskthecongresstojoinwithme;butnopresident,nocongress,nogovernmentcanundertakethismissionalone.MyfellowAmericans,you,too,mustplayyourpartinourrenewal.IchallengeanewgenerationofyoungAmericanstoaseasonofservice,toactonyouridealism,byhelpingtroubledchildren,keepingcompanywiththoseinneed,reconne
22、ctingourtorncommunities.Thereissomuchtobedone.Enough,indeed,formillionsofotherswhoarestillyounginspirit,togiveofthemselvesinservice,too.Inservingwerecognizeasimple,butpowerful,truth:weneedeachother,andwemustcareforoneanother.TodaywedomorethancelebrateAmerica,werededicateourselvestotheveryideaofAmeri
23、ca,anideaborninrevolution,andrenewedthroughtwocenturiesofchallenge,anideatemperedbytheknowledgethatbutforfate,we,thefortunateandtheunfortunate,mighthavebeeneachother;anideaennobledbythefaiththatournationcansummonfromitsmyriaddiversity,thedeepestmeasureofunity;anideainfusedwiththeconvictionthatAmeric
