This novel mainly wrote about one old man alone in the sea who fishes. He caught one big fish. But he met a shark on the way home. The old man used all his skills to fight with the shark. At last, the fish he caught was eaten up by the shark, but he never gave up. This book shows to us that the confidence is just like the automobile motor, and is power which makes the person go forward.
