Today Im going to talk about the first period form 1a to 2cof Unit 5 Section A. Id like to say something about this lesson from followi

2、ng three parts : analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods and teaching procedures. Part One : Analysis of the Teaching Material First of all, Ill talk about the teaching material. One: Status and Function. This unit tells us how to express your likes and dislikes. In this unit, Studen

3、ts are required to learn some TV shows and how to express their feelings about them. Besides, this lesson plays an important role in this unit even in the whole book. So I think if students can learn this lesson well, it will contribute to the learning of the rest of this unit. Two: Analysis of the

4、Students My students are almost 13-14 years old. Most of them already have basic abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Its not difficult for them to master the main contents of a lesson. However, they are young children after all, its difficult to keep their attention for a long tim

5、e in class. So its important to arouse their interests and draw their attention by using attractive teaching methods as well as interesting games. Three: Teaching Key and Difficult Points The key points of this lesson are the news words, phrases and sentence structures. And the difficult point is ho

6、w to express our opinions about all kinds of TV shows. Then, Part Two:The Teaching Methods According to the condition of my students, I prefer to adopt communicative teaching method, students-centered teaching method and task-based teaching method together with all kinds of interesting activities su

7、ch as games, pair work, group discussions, brain storm and so on.Four: Teaching Procedures. I divide this part into five steps. Step 1, greetings and lead-in. Step 2, presentation. Step 3, oral practice. Step 4, listening practice. Step 5, summary and homework. Now, Ill start my class step by step.

8、First, I lead in my class by a video. Then ask students a question. Question1:What did you see in the video? By doing so, students interests are aroused and the topic today is also led in. Then, step two, presentation. In this step, Ill show students some interesting pictures to attract their attent

9、ion and teach them new words and phrases. After this, I design a game here to help students consolidate the new words and phrases. Then work on 1a. Next, Ill present the sentence structures through teacher-students and students-teacher ask and answer. Step three, oral practice. In this step, student

10、s practice the sentences by pair work and then show it. In this way, students would be more active in class and their listening and speaking will be improved at the same time. Step four, listening practice. In this step, students will listen 1b, 2a and 2b. The purpose is to develop students listenin

11、g ability. Step five, summary and homework. Ill summarize the lesson from following three parts : words, phrases and sentences. And exercise is also necessary. It will help students consolidate what they learned today and test if theyve master the main contents in this lesson. Thats all for my class. Thanks for your attention!
