28、ngs”which is retained,in the Lantern Festival;the custom becomes“eating Yuanxiao”,and“waiting for the New Years eve bell”is the sole retained custom at the eve of theChinese spring festival.Traditional festival activities such as watching lanterns,guessing lantern riddles and watching and participat
29、ing in dragon boat races are alsogradually disappearing.In terms of these tendencies,the inheritance and developmentthe traditional festivals with Chinese characteristics has become an extremely crucialissue for contemporary Chinese.In this context,based on the comparative study of festivals,this pa
