In 2017, the Ministry of Education promoted the curriculum reform, formally promulgated

The “New Curriculum Standard(2017)” has released, in the meantime the college entrance examination has also tranformed. The traditional English reading teaching has not been able to conformtothe“New Curr

6、iculum Standard”trendofthetime. Therefore, English reading as an essential part of the college entrance examination and senior high school English learning, its teaching skills and learning methods also need to innovate timely. In many aspects such as reading material selection, teaching design, cla

7、ssroom activities, self-study and so on, senior high school English teaching should comprehensively improve students language ability, cultural awareness, thinking quality and independent learning ability. The four aspects of the core competence of English discipline are different in the cultivation

8、 methods. This paper will take the senior high school English textbook under the guidance of the New Curriculum Standard as an example and refer to the four key qualities of English subject proposed by the “New Curriculum Standard” to discuss the new teaching strategies of high school English readin

In terms of English reading teaching, the teaching contents based on core competence are more extensive and profound than the previous three-dimensional objectives, which not only include the cultivation of traditional reading knowledge, read

Therefore, teachers and students are easily affected by the phenomenon of “teaching to test”, which is not conducive to the cultivation of students lifelong learning ability, and also breaches the evolution of high school students key competence under the new teaching situati

24、on. There are many weaknesses of students in English reading, the problem is also a weak link of their English improvement. English reading need the vocabularyknowledgeframeworks, overall discourse comprehension ability, the accumulation of different cultural knowledge,the details capture and analys

25、is ability, the integration of critical thinking. When students read English articles, they often only stay on learning vocabulary, translation, sentence patterns, which is not only easy to lose their interest in learning English, also impeds the mature of their comprehensive language using ability,

26、 and the development of thinking ability. As an important part of the college entrance examination and the teaching of English reading, the reading teaching methodes have to be updated ,and adapt the demands of core competence, which are benefit to defection of cultivating students language ability,

27、 cultural awareness, thinking quality and learning ability, and cultivate new talents in line with the social development. According to this research, we can gain more clear understanding of English reading teaching under the core competences, and at the same time, it is more helpful for senior high

30、on, whether it will conform to Chinas educational reform and the need of society, to explore the subject core competence implementation problems that we might encounter in China. The third chapter will analyze the defects of Chinese traditional teaching methods of English reading, which lays a found

31、ation for the following research on English reading strategies. In the fourth chapter, this paper will be divided into four parts: language ability, cultural awareness, quality of thinking, learning ability, respectively to explore each parts strategies in the English reading material selection, the

32、 improvement of the students reading skills, the promotion of thinking ability, literacy influencing. In short, core competence is the guide to personal development and the need

36、for personal socialization. There are many differences in each country and region. Therefore, in order to meet the new challenges, we should choose the appropriate core competence. The core competence frameworks of different countries and regions all present new requirements for social and economic

Core literacy is cross-disciplinary, and the cultivation of perfect person requires the joint role of each key l

However, there are manyobstacles in the English curriculum

First of all, the resources of teachers are updated slowly, and traditional teaching concepts are not change, so it is difficult for the New Curriculum Standards and advanced teaching concepts to penetrate into daily teaching progress, and the quality of cultivating innovative talents is no

48、t guaranteed.In the traditional teaching model, it is difficult for teachers to break the traditional concept of valuing teachers over students, therefore it is difficult for students to cultivate their innovative ability and independent learning ability,they also dont arise the relief of lifelong l

49、earning. Secondly, the classroom teaching still prefers to follow the tradition pattern rather than innovating. Teacher is also used to a certain kind of teaching mode so that the classroom teaching is difficult to innovate. The fragmentation of teaching contents and the lack of integration are not benefit to the systematic cultivation of students comprehensive
