The college professor Parker Wilson finds a lost puppy at a train station and takes it home, which takes much annoyance to his wife Cate.,However, parker and the dog develop such a remarkable bond that Cate is forced to relent and Hachi
2、becomes a devoted member of the family.,After several months, Parker and Hachi get along very well, they become partners. Every morning, Hachi accompanies Parker to the train station and waits patiently for his return, becoming a regular fixture of Hachis life.,However, Every day is not Sunday.,One
3、day, Hachi became abnormal, he barked fiercely and didnt want to see his host off. At last, Hachi came to the station to see Parker off reluctantly. It was Parkers last time to see Hachi. He was dead because of heart disease.,Hachi persisted in waiting for his host, day after day and year after year
4、. Hachi came to the station to wait his host in the day time and sleep under a discarded train at night. The dog moved the people in the train and the people all over the world.It is a real story.,Ten years passed ,he was still here.,Hachi has been waiting in the weeds,waiting for his only fellow to
5、 walk him home.His hope has been floating in the breeze,carrying his loneliness and misery all above the ground.Maybe professor knows,but he could never come back.,The dog gives us a vivid lesson that we all have to loyal to our family, loyal to family, loyal to our country.,And it also tells me tha
6、t never forget those whom you love.,The GoodGere is excellent as Parker, delivering a likeable, warm-hearted performance that is extremely charming. He also creates an onscreen bond with Hachi (played, as usual, by several different dogs) that will melt even the most cynical of hearts.The dog itself
7、 is impossibly cute, especially during the puppy years if you see the film at the cinema, be prepared to be surrounded by entire roomfuls of people going “Awwww” involuntarily. Its also beautifully shot throughout and theres strong support from Allen, Sarah Roemer (as Parkers grown-up daughter), Jas
8、on Alexander (as station master Carl) and Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Parkers friend Ken.,The BadThe problem is that the story, whilst undeniably moving, is ultimately too slight to sustain a 90 minute running time once Hachi starts waiting at the station, thats basically all that happens for the next 4
9、0 minutes or so. Much of the blame for this rests with the script, which could easily have made engaging sub-plots out of each of the station-based supporting characters (particularly Erick Avari and Davenia McFadden as a hot dog vendor and a bookseller) but leaves them frustratingly underwritten an
