To be specific, means of transportation such as cargo planes and ships that are commonly used in the long-distance transport of food would consume a significant amount of fuel, and the excessive exhaust released by such vehicles would pollute the environment. 6、he proper preservation of food necessitates fresh-keeping techniques like refrigeration, which would cost extra energy. Therefore, global food trade apparently raises carbon emissions and aggravates environmental problems. In addition, imported food may harm local food markets. Large international f
7、ood corporations can drive prices down to occupy the market with their industrial chains and strong capital, so that individual farmers would be unable to keep their market share due to a lack of competition.
