4、个整体”,用单数形式的谓语动词;如将侧重点放在组成整体的成员上,则用复数形式的谓语动词。 【辨析】win,beat win和beat都有“赢、获胜”之意。win后一般跟race,match,war,prize等;beat后一般跟人或团队。 2.Danny is just about to say something when he sees Steven running towards them carrying a basketball. be/seem about to do意为“刚要做”。be about to do sth.when/be doing sth.when结构中的when意
5、为“这时”。see sb.doing sth.表示“看到某人正在做某事”;see sb.do sth.表示“看到某人做某事(的全过程)”。carrying a basketball在句中作running的伴随状语,而不是与running并列,作sees的宾语补足语。3.Well,my computer broke down the day before yesterday and its still being repaired. break down在本句中意为“损坏;出毛病;失效”。be being done结构是进行时的被动语态,表示“正在被”。【辨析】repair,mend,fix (
6、1)repair一般指需要较高的职业技能和使用较复杂的工具进行修理。宾语通常是路、手表、车、房屋、机器等。 (2)mend通常指较简单的修复过程,一般不需要专门技术或特殊工具。宾语通常是衣服、鞋袜、桌椅、玩具等小物品。(3)fix多用于美语,仅用于指带有安装、固定性质的修理。4.I tried calling you,but your phone was out of service. out of service意为“不在服务区”,在这里作表语。out of 在本句中表示“离开;脱离”。5.I sent you a text message. 【辨析】message,information
7、(1)message意为“信息”时,一般指口头传递的或书写的“消息”,为可数名词。(2)information意为“信息”时,通常指在阅读、观察、谈话或书信往来中特别关注的消息、情报、资料等。它侧重内容,是不可数名词。6.You knew how important the game was to me! 句中的how important the game was to me是用感叹句作宾语从句;be important to表示“对重要”。7.Danny almost hits Steven,but Brian and Jenny jump in to separate them. jump
8、 in在本句中意为“参与;欣然加入”。 【拓展】jump in还有“跳入;一步进入(汽车等)”。separate作动词时,意为“分割开来”,通常后面会跟介词from。 【拓展】separate作形容词时,意为“各自的,分开的”。 【注意】separate侧重指把原来连在一起或靠近的人或物分开,divide侧重于把一个整体分成若干部分。8.You are good friends,not enemies. 这是一个省略句,完整的句子为: You are good friends,and you are not enemies.。9.You should behave like gentlemen
9、. behave为不及物动词,意为“表现”。behave well/badly意为“表现得好/不好”;behave like意为“表现得像 ”。10.Me neither! Me neither!意为“我也不!”。表示后一句所述的情况与前一句陈述的否定情况相同。也可用倒装结构“Neither+be动词/助动词/情态动词+主语.”表达。【拓展】Me too.意为“我也”,表示后一句所述的情况与前一句陈述的肯定情况相同。也可用倒装结构“So+be动词/助动词/情态动词+主语(名词或人称代词的主格).”表达。4)分组活动Have you ever had a serious dispute with
