35、f causes begins with an introduction which briefly describes the effect, and then the entire body of the essay analyzes the causes.1. Do not oversimplify causes.2. Beware especially of making a mistake in logic known as the fallacy of post hoc, ergo propter hoc Latin words meaning “after this, there

For instance, if a disease broke out soon after X became Minister of Public Health, we would probably make a mistake in logic in saying that the epidemic broke out because X was made minister. Remember sequence 3. Distinguish between direct and indirect causes and between majo
37、r and minor causes.4. Do not omit links in a chain of causes.5. Be objective and support the analysis with solid, factual evidence.
