4、uld go back late.拓展 in case (that)和for fear that也可以引导目的状语从句，表示“以免；以防”。 while在此处引导了一个时间状语从句，表示“当的时候”，它引导的从句中的谓语动词必须是可延续性的，通常是正在进行中的动作。当主句主语与从句主语一致时，可省去从句中出现的主语，而把谓语动词改为现在分词形式。如：He looked at the menu while he waited for his friends in the restaurant.= He looked at the menu while waiting for his friend
5、s in the restaurant.他在那家餐厅等他的朋友们的时候，看了菜单。和 because和as在上文中都是引导原因状语从句，表示“因为”，它们不能与 so连用。如：He couldnt have seen me, because I was not there. 他不可能见到我，因为我不在那儿。As she didnt have enough money left, she didnt buy the book.由于她剩下的钱不够了，她没有买那本书。拓展 原因状语从句还可以由for, since, now (that), considering that, seeing that等引导，但是because所表示的语气最为强烈。
