When While we were at school, we went to the library every day. when 从句的谓语动词可以在主句谓语动作之前、和主句谓语动作同时发生；之后或同时发生； while 和 as 从句的谓语动作必需是While 表示时间段 ,因此, while 从句的谓语动词要用连续性动词；如：Please dont talk so loud while others are working. As 与 when 用法相像,但着重强调

11、 many, much, few, little 表示数量的多少时 ,名词前用 so；如：She made so many mistakes that she didnt pass the exam. so that 既可以引导目的状语从句又可以引导结果状语从句引导目的状语从句时可译为 为了 ,引导结果状语从句时可译为 以便 如I speak loudly so that all the students can hear me clearly. 目的状语从句 Maria likes the woolen dress so that she decides to buy it immediat
12、ely .结果状语从句 1 so that引导目的状语从句时 表示 “以便/might /will /would /should 等情态动词或助动词和 may 等词；为了 从句中常使用 can /could /may 引导结果状语从句时 从句中一般不用 can2 So that引导的目的状语从句之前不用逗号 而 so that引导的结果状语从句与主句之间往往有逗号相隔开 即略作停顿 意思是 “因此 ;所以 ”；请比较He worked hard at his lessons so that he could gain high grades in the exams. 他努力学习功课 争取考试
