1.父母想要的东西 The Things That Parents Want
There is no doubt that parents are the greatest persons in the world, no matter what mistakes we make, they will forgive us and never abandon us. We all know that it is natural to return our parents, so we work hard for the purpose of giving them more money and live the better life. Actually, the things that they want are not like these.
毫无疑问,父母是世界上最伟大的人,不管我们犯了什么错误,他们从未放弃我们。我们都知道,回报我们的父母是很自然的事情,所以我们努力工作的目的是给他们更多的钱,过更好的生活。实际上,他们想要的东西并不是这些。
The first thing they want is your time. As young people graduate and begin to work, they move far away from home and barely have time to visit their parents. Some even go back home once a year. The time stay with parents is the most precious thing in their eyes. The second thing is your attention. When they get sick, they want to hear from their children, which worths everything. Or a call now and then and talk to them console them.

Money is believed to be the best way to return our parents in most people’s eyes. But what parents want is their time and attention. As the popular song calls on people to visit parents often, it costs all to go back home and have dinner with parents.

2.做自己的决定 Make Your Own Choice
Many people have the difficulty to make decision, because they have no idea what they want and then just follow the crowd. When they realize what they want, they feel regretful. For the lucky person, they have the chance to restart, while for some don’t, they just live the life without passion.
许多人很难做出决定,因为他们不知道自己想要什么,然后只是随大流。当他们意识到他们想要的东西时,会感到遗憾。幸运的人,他们有机会重来,而对于一些不幸运的人,他们过着没有激情的生活。
I remembered before we went to college, we needed to choose the major. Most students did not know what to do, so they made a survey, the hot major which was believed to have the promising future was their first choice. As they studied, some would find they had no interest but they just couldn’t give up. If they thought twice before act, then they would not follow the crowd.

I appreciate the saying that you are so special, why you have to follow the crowd. Indeed, some make their decision for the purpose of catering for others, which go against their will. If people lose their individuality, they lose their soul.

Love is the most beautiful thing in the world, it gives people the power and make them become stronger. In most children’s eyes, they dream to have the relationship like their parents, who support each other all the time. This is the best love.

I read a good story that told about a married couple. The wife read from a magazine that listing the unsatisfied problems between the couples could help them to keep their marriage better. So they listed the problems on a separated room. The wife was the first to talked about the unsatisfied problems, it surprised the husband that she got three pages. When it was the turn for the husband to read the problems, he got nothing in the paper. He told his wife that she was the most perfect girl in his heart and he didn’t want the girl change a thing.

What a lovely couple, the husband shows people what love is. Love is to accept one’s good sides and bad sides, no matter what happens, they will always support each other. Just as the vow, no matter you are rich or poor, sick or healthy, we will never be aparted.

Actually, these people are believed to have the mental illness, they can do as the following advice and get rid of illness.

First, people must realize that the evaluation of a person is not according to the apperance totally. The obvious example is the facebook’s founder Mark Zuckerberg, the young and rich man married a homely looking girl. This girl was very excellent and she had the charm. It is important to cultivate the personal charm, such as reading more books and broaden the vision.
首先,人们必须认识到,对一个人的评价并不全是根据容貌。最明显的例子是脸书的创始人马克扎克伯格,一个年轻有钱的人娶了一个普通的女孩。这个女孩很优秀,有自己的魅力。培养个人魅力是很重要的,比如阅读更多的书籍,扩大视野。
Second, it is also indispensable to make up properly. People don’t need to dress like the stars, but make up a little can help them to be confident, what’s more, it is important to know the dress code. So people will not feel the self-deprecation in the public occasions.
第二,适当地化妆也是不可少的。人们不需要穿得像明星那样,但化一点点妆可以帮助他们变得自信,更重要的是,要知道如何着装。这样人们在公共场合才不会觉得自我贬低。
Everybody is born to be equal and has their own feature, so don’t be stuck in the appearance.

When students come to the university, they will treat their major as the big deal, because the major will decide their future. Most students consider the job potential when they choose the major. In my opinion, each major will have the relative job potential, it is our hard working that helps us to be successful.
当学生来到大学,他们会把专业当作大事,因为专业将会决定他们的未来。大多数学生在选择专业时主要考虑到工作前景。在我看来,每个专业都有相对的工作潜力,我们的努力才是帮助我们取得成功的因素。
As a graduate student, I have to find a job and I have got many interviews, but I haven’t found the good job, so I am still fighting for my future. I major in English, before I chose it as my major, many people told me that it was easy to find a job and I did research the information on the Internet. I made my choice, but now I realized that finding a job is easy while not for the satisfying one.
作为一个研究生,我必须得找到一份工作,我有很多的面试,但我还没找到好工作,所以我还得为我的未来而战。我主修英语,之前我选择它作为我的专业,是因为很多人告诉我,很容易找到工作,我也在互联网上搜索了信息。我做了选择,但是现在我意识到找工作是很容易的，但是找到令人满意的却很难。
When some high school students ask my opinion about the major, my answer is the interest comes first. None of the major can promise you the promising future, you need to stand out and then you will achieve great success no matter what major you learn.

In the traditional view, girls will marry someday and then they will focus on the family, so there is no need for them to work so hard. But it is totally wrong for the girls. No matter which stage they are in, they need to work hard to keep their economic source. As the saying that no money, no talk, so the girls can say out their thoughts loudly in the family instead of feeling shameful to fight for their rights.

Whether girls marry or not, working can help them keep in pace with the time. The working surrounding not only can distract their pressure in the family, but also can broaden their vision. The colleagues can talk to them and relieve their negative emotion. Working can make a girl charming.

7.正面的偶像 The Positive Idol
With the development of Internet, people can get the instant news and many people keep their eyes on the hot news, which makes other people get famous easily. As the saying that good news will not be spread while the bad news will, people get famous by presenting the immoral acts and the audience promotes it. We need the positive idols.
随着互联网的发展,人们可以获得即时新闻和很多人随时在关注着热点新闻,这让别人很容易出名。俗话说好事不出门坏事传千里,一些人通过呈现不道德行为来获得知名度,观众也促使了这样的事情发生。我们需要正面的偶像。
Looking back on the hot figures these years, we can find that Internet provides people a large stage to get fame, there is no doubt that the fastest way to catch people’s attention is to attact others by rude words. The audience really loves to see it, they enjoy seeing people acting impolitely. People ignore appreciating the truth and beauty, they are the supporters of vulgar culture.
回首这些年来炙手可热的名人,我们可以发现,互联网为人们提供一个大舞台来获得名声,毫无疑问,最快抓住人们的注意力的方式就是用粗鲁的言语去攻击别人。观众非常喜欢看到这样的情况,他们喜欢看到人们粗鲁的行为。人们忽视了欣赏美和真理,他们是低俗文化的支持者。
As our society is in the stage of transition, the new value has not been formed, so people are lost in it. They chase after the vulgar culture just to show the unsatisfaction of the society. Chasing idol is everybody’s right, but a idol should stand for the postive sides, or there is meaningless to do it.
由于我们社会处于过渡阶段,尚未形成新的价值观,所以人们自我迷失。他们追逐低俗文化来表现出对社会的不满。追逐偶像是每个人的权利,但是一个偶像应代表积极的方面,不然追星没有意义。
8.幸福的意义 The Meaning of Happiness
“What the happiness is” is the question that we are always asked. People hold different opinion as they experience the different life. For some people, they believe that happiness is to own the great success in career and earn a lot of money. For another people believe that doing what they want is the biggest happiness. In my opnion, I agree with the latter.
“什么是幸福”，我们总会被问到这样的问题。人们持有不同的意见,因为他们体验着不同的人生。对于一些人来说,他们认为幸福是拥有成功的事业,赚很多钱。另一些人相信做他们想要的就是最大的幸福。在我看来,我同意后者的观点。
It is very lucky to live the life we want and enjoy the things we do. For some very successful businessmen, they are busy all the day, travelling through different cities to talk about the projects. When they have time at midnight, they always feel lonely deep in their hearts and wonder about what they are doing these for.
能过我们想要的生活,享受我们所做的事情是非常幸运的。对于一些非常成功的商人来说,他们整天忙碌,穿梭于不同的城市之间来谈项目。当他们在午夜闲下来的时候,他们总是感到孤独在内心深处,想知道自己做的是为了什么。
While for some ordinary people who can slow down the life pace and enjoy the life, they know the meaning of happiness. They put their family in the first place and cherish the time spend with them. Life is short, they know exactly what they want and don’t want to waste the time on vanity fair.
而对于一些普通的人来说，他们可以放慢生活节奏,享受生活,知道幸福的含义。他们把家庭放在第一位, 珍惜与家人在一起的日子。生命是短暂的,他们知道自己想要什么,不想浪费时间在名利场上。
The meaning of happiness comes from the moment and the things we enjoy.
幸福的意义来自于我们享受的时刻和喜欢的东西。
9.如何定义幸福 How to Define Happiness
When I was small, my parents always told me that I must study hard, so that I would make a lot of money and could live a happy life. To my parents, they think happiness means the bright future and money. But now as I grow up, I keep thinking about what is happiness, my recognition about happiness is very different from my parents’.
在我还小的时候，我的父母总是告诉我要努力学习，这样才能挣很多钱，过上幸福的生活。对于我的父母来说，他们认为幸福意味着美好的未来和拥有钱。但是如今随着我长大，我一直在思索着什么是幸福，我对幸福的认识和父母的很不一样。
In my eye, the meaning of happiness is very simple, it could be the small things which makes me satisfied. When I make programs in my study, I make my goal come true, I am so proud of myself, it is a happy moment for me. When I stay with my family, I talk to them and they are willing to listen to my words, we communicate happily, I am so happy about it. Well, happiness is such easy for me to touch, because I am so easy to be satisfied.
在我的眼里，幸福的意义是很简单的，它可以是让我感到满足的很小事情。当我在学习上进步了，我让自己的目标实现了，为自己感到自豪，这对于我来说也是幸福的时刻。当我和家人在一起，和他们聊天，他们也在聆听我的话，我们愉快地交流着，我为此感到幸福。是的，幸福对于我来说是如此简单就可以触摸到，因为我很容易就感到满足。
If people tell me that they don’t feel happy, I would say that they want too many things and never satisfied with the things they have. The true happiness is to have less desire.

10.大苹果 The Big Apple
American cities have many nickenames, such as Chicago is the windy city and Los Angeles is the city of angels. The biggest city New York is famous for the nickname of The Big Apple. Many people come to New York to have a look at the famous scenery and feel the lively atmosphere here.
