They tell how animal life, plantlife and human life began.Creation stories help peopleeverywhere to understand the world andtheir place in the
3、 world.Many creation stories begin withdarkness. In Persian stories, the maingod,Ahura Mazda, was the creator of allthat was good. From the darkness, hemade the sun, the stars, humans, animalsand plants.AlthoughAhura Mazda was themain god, he did not have all the power.第一章 解释世界所有的文化都有自己的创造故事。这些故事有的很

14、groundup and mixed with water.They madethis mix into four men and four womenand gave them life.The gods were happy with the cornpeople, apart from one thing - the cornpeople were too intelligent.So the gods decided to cloud thepeoples minds so that the people wouldnever understand everything clearly
