He cleverly persuades his friends to trade him small treasures for doin

6、g his work.Contents Tom falls in love with Becky, a new girl in town, and persuades her to get engaged by kissing him. Becky kisses Tom, but their romance damaged when she learns that Tom has been engaged to a girl named Amy. Tom accompanies Huck to the graveyard at night to try out a “cure” for war

7、ts with a dead cat. At the graveyard, they witness the murder of young Dr. Robinson by the Native-American Joe. Tom and Huck run away and swear not to tell anyone what they have seen. Joe frames (陷陷害害) his companion, Potter, for the crime.Potter is wrongfully arrested, and Toms anxiety and guilt beg

So Tom hardly has a good sleep, later he and Hack give some small gifts to Potter to ease his guilty.Tom, Joe and Huck make a decision to an uninhabited island, and to be privates (兵卒兵卒).
