12、addressedandremedieditmayhavevanishedinthemarketplace,tobereplacedbynewabusesofpower.Butthereisadeeperconceptualproblem,too.Competitionlawaspresentlyinterpreteddealswithfinancialdisadvantagetoconsumersandthisisnotobviouswhentheusersoftheseservicesdontpayforthem.Theusersoftheirservicesarenottheircust
13、omers.ThatwouldbethepeoplewhobuyadvertisingfromthemandFacebookandGoogleoperateavirtualduopolyindigitaladvertisingtothedetrimentofallothermediaandentertainmentcompanies.Theproducttheyresellingisdata,andwe,theusers,convertourlivestodataforthebenefitofthedigitalgiants.Justassomeantsfarmaphidsforthehoneydewthatoozesfromthemwhentheyfeed,soGooglefarmsusforthedatathatourdigitallivesexude.Antskeeppredatoryinsectsawayfromwheretheiraphidsfeed;Gmailkeepsthespammersoutofourinboxes.Itdoesntfeellikeahumanordemocraticrelationship,evenifbothsidesbenefit.
