2、by all her classmates,neighbours even her parents because of her ugliness and black skin.All she wants is to own a pair of blue eyes as same as the white girls,which caused her tragedy.As we all know,the Black have lived under constrict in terms of economic and politic for a long time.The black live
3、d in an abyss of suffering,as time goes by,they became more and more sensitive and self-abased,which was the background of the story.At same time ,the story reflected the reality of the society,this is the result of the whole culture of society.We all know that there are not any advantages and disad
4、vantages between different cultures and nations.However at that time,the wide gap between black and white in economic and politic made the white became stronger and stronger,while the black became weaker and weaker.The reality resulted in the black felt themselves inferior in the long term.They have
5、 no power to fight for their equal right.To make their identity to be admitted,they did not resist their traditional culture and values,but to choose adapt and admire the whites culture.The most obvious change of appreciation of the beauty is that they think white skin,brown hair and blue eyes are t
6、he standards of beauty.However their own black skin is the symbol of dirty and ugliness.Because they can not get the permission of the whole society,they lose the sense of mainstay in their family.What was worse,some black people also lose their own dignity in their relatives.Just like the Pecolas f
7、ather, Cholly, regarded as a boute by the villagers. Surely, he hated Pecola, too. But unexpectedly, he made Pecola have her father child. He was the direct factor that spoiled Pecolas life. After his evildoing, Pecola was mocked by the villagers, including her friends.To make a conclusion,I think C
8、holly is the most important factor to lead to the tragedy of Pecola.It seemed that it was Cholly who spoiled Pecola. But actually it was the social system in America. The value system and the morality standard based on the social discrimination are main factors. Thats the root of Pecolas tragedy. In
9、 that period, uniform aesthetic standard was white skin, blue eyes. Black people are inferior to white people. In fact, black people have their own culture. If they can stick to and live in their own culture, the tragedy may be avoid. This innocent girl should have lived happily under the black peop
10、le culture. But her parents, classmates and villagers told her that she was inferior to white people. Black skin was ugly and and dirty. The doll which was given to Claudia as birthday present was a white girl, white skin and a pair of big blue eyes. The picture published on the sweet wrappers was a
11、 lovely white girl. The shop owners were hostile to her. Pecola awared that all of these should blame her black skin. People around teached her that black girl was not popular, which led to her tragedy. Whats worse, black boys despised and bullied her. They were despised by white people, so they gav
12、e vent to black girls because males were superior to females. It was them who spoiled themselves. They regarded white peoples aesthetic standard as theirs. Inevitably, they despised themselves. Turn things around, maybe obnubilation was good for Pecola. When she was conscious, she was torturous. Now
13、 she was released from the torture. She visionally thought she owned a pair of blue eyes and lived under this kind of satisfaction. What a satire, obnubilation becomes a persons saviour. But in that period, it was absolutely true.Toni Morrison uncovers that black people should recognize their own va
14、lue, stand on their own culture and then absorb other nations strength, instead of losing themselves in other nations culture.The black group is one of groups in the world,but they were not respected by the whole society,they are not adapted and admitted as well.What was worse ,the white did not sho
15、w any carefulness for them.The black people were laughed at by the white for a long time.There are two tragedies in the story.On one hand,Cholly,who was shocked by two white people when he was making a date with his wife often had domestic violence on his wife,even rape his own daughter,which caused
16、 Pecola has been pregnant.Cholly was condemned by his family,and he was also unequally treated by the white.On the other hand,Pecolas mother hurted Pecola deeply,she showed great admiration on the white,which was a obvious behavior of nonconfidence.She did not care about her daughters hurt in her le
17、g,but she took good care of her masters daughter.This reflected she has lost her own personality.To draw a conclusion,the most important in a family is person.The love and belief make the whole family warm and happy.But in Pecolas family,they lost their own main place,they had no love with each other,which was the cause of the tragedy.专心-专注-专业
