But instead of addressing the worrisome legalliablility issue, it focuses mainly on medical consequences of a fall and offers technical solutions t
4、o different fall scenarios, while also telling people to overcome embarrassment and psychological fear of helping. This has further inflamed citizens who feel in a dilemma between wanting to help, and havng fear of being taken advanbtage of for their kindness.Falling down is a leading cause of death
5、 for Chinese citizens aged 65 and above, according to Yang Maowei, Associate Professor of the First Hospital of China Medical University. However, in recent years, there have been frequent reports of such deaths in public places with no one helping the victims, Yand said.It seems that Chinese people
6、 have become reluctant to help because they worry that the person they help may later turn around and sue them, as that is whats been happening a number of times in recent years. As a consequence, several elderly have been left to die in the streets with people passing by or watching, but not helpin
7、g them.One line in the guidelines that particularly irked netizens said, “whether or not to lend a hand depends on the situation.”After the Ministrys gudelines came out, Sina Weibo conducted a poll, asking people whether they are still willing to help an elderly who has fallen, considering the Minis
8、trys guidelines.Of the 5,031who voted, only 20 percent said yes, while 43 percent said no. and the remainding 38 percent said, theyre not sure.Some people left comments expressing their inner conflicts and disillusionment over Chinas sliding moral values.“I dare not help, but I ll run to a public ph

They deem that online education stands a chance of providing a more efficient learning style for self-directed learners on the positive side, but it might fail to achieve the
14、 same effect of intellectual community. While some students heap prise on its convenience, flexibility, and independence, others point out that online education is absent of teacher-student interaction, an indispensible part of learning process. As for myself, I am of the opinion that the advantages
15、 of online education outweigh its disadtantages.Firstly, compared with traditional ways of learning in college, online education is more flexible. Rather than being restricted in classrooms, learners can sigh up for any course they are interested in as long as they have the access to the Internet. B
16、esides, learners can take the online courses repeatedly in case they feel perplexed.A more important fact is that online education is as demanding as traditional education. On top of the teaching sessions, the lecturer also assigns homework, which is never less than that assighed in classrooms. What
17、s more, various quizzes and exams are taken regularly to assess whether learners seize the knbowledge taught.Last but not the least, contrary to the opponents, as for the demerit of online education, I presume that lack of teacher-student interaction exerts no major impact on study. “Lack” does not
